Did you know that there is only ONE monster per splinter in the modern league that has a TAUNT ability?
What is taunt? how does taunt work? according to splintercards; All enemy Monsters target this Monster (if they are able to).
All of the enemy monsters will focus on the monster with the taunt ability, they will only target him alone if able to.
MONSTERS WITH TAUNT
DARK HA'ON, the only monster in the DEATH splinter that has a TAUNT ability, and his ability TAUNT will be available in level 1 along with FLYING
He will also unlock the abilities ScavengerVoidMagic Reflect 
. 
at level 2, 
at level 3 and last 
at level 4. Which made him an excellent tank against magic monsters.
SHIELDBEARER, a rare monster from the life splinter with a Taunt ability, will also unlock the abilities SHIELDRETURN FIRE 
at level 5 and 
at level 8. With this ability unlocked, he will be one of the best monsters to counter range damage monster.
WAVE BROOD is an Epic monster from the water splinter that has a Taunt ability along with THE KRAKEN, he will have this ability at level 1 along with Close range
He will be also unlocking the abilities VoidReturn FireSHIELDBEARER a great counter against range damage monsters.

at level 6. This makes a monster similar to
MAGNOR is a legendary monster in the fire splinter that only has a TAUNT ability. He also has High damage of 4 and a speed of 3 at level 1, which makes him a great damage dealer.
He will also unlock the abilities RAGETRAMPLERETURN FIRE 
at level 2, 
at level 3, and 
at level 4. With all of these abilities unlocked, he will be one of the best damage dealers in the game.
MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN is a rare monster in the earth splinter that only has a TAUNT ability. He is the only magic damage monster with this ability.
He will be also unlocking the abilities ForcefieldSlowForcefield ability, he will be one of the best tank monsters in the max mana cap games that will be countering high damage monsters.

RULESETS THAT WOULD BE GREAT FOR IT
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, according to Splintercards; All Monsters have the Opportunity ability. Thus, having all the enemy monsters focus on your TAUNT monster, which will nullify the ruleset.
TARGET PRACTICE, according to splintercards; All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability. The idea of using TAUNT in this ability is similar with the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, you will be able to protect your vulnerable monsters by forcing them to focus their damage to your TAUNT monster.
SUPER SNEAK, according to splintercards ; All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability. With this ruleset, you will be able to place the melee Taunt monsters in any position and deal damage while protecting the last position monster by your TAUNT monster by taking the damage.
EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY will make all of your monsters have the BLAST ability, which is why getting a TAUNT monster will make you control where that blast damage will go. Instead of the damage spreading out, you will be able to limit the blast damage and contain it.
ABILITIES THAT WOULD COMPLIMENT TAUNT
REPAIR, a monster with this ability will be Repairing the Armor of the ally monsters. Therefore, they will make your Taunt monster live longer against the physical damage monsters.
TRIAGE, monsters with this ability will be able to Heal monsters that is not placed in the first position, and when you place your TAUNT monster other than in the first position, they will be healed by the TRIAGE and will be able to live longer.
TANK HEAL, just like the word says, a monster with TANK HEAL ability will be supporting and healing the first position monster, and usually, we place our TAUNT monster in the first position which will make them live longer.
PROTECT, a monster with this ability will give all of your monsters +2 armor. That armor will help your TAUNT absorb physical damage and will make them live longer.

G 1 - TAUNT in a SUPERSNEAK and NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset
G 2 - TAUNT with TANK HEAL
G 3 - TAUNT with TRIAGE
G 4 - TAUNT in the BLAST ruleset
AFTERWORD
These are not the only ways to use the TAUNT ability. There will be more strategies that you can use to optimize/maximize the TAUNT ability in any ruleset and scenarios.
The only disadvantage of TAUNT monsters is that they are high mana cap monsters that can only be used in high mana cap games and are extremely limited in low mana cap games.
