Greetings to all readers! After a long break, I continue my story about the glorious city of Marrakesh in Morocco.
After we visited the real Berber show, which I told you about in part 1 of my story, we went to the equally famous Bahia Palace.
This palace was built in the 19th century by the Vizier of Marrakech Si Ahmed Ben Musa. The name of the palace can be translated by the word "colorful", and this name is very suitable for the palace. I was very impressed with its interior decor. Here, for example, is the ceiling decoration.
The vizier had 4 wives and more than 2 dozen concubines. It's even difficult to count the number of his children, but the palace is huge, and I think there was enough space for all of them.Bahia is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Morocco and it is logical: the vizier had just such an ambition: to make his palace the best.
In addition to the decorated ceilings, doors are also beautiful here. There are a lot of them, and I just couldn't resist taking a picture next to them.It is not surprising, probably, that all the wives and children of the vizier simply could not pass through one door, a queue would form. Therefore, several doors were made at once, well, at least, I think so.
The palace was completed by the vizier's son, so its structure is a bit chaotic, there are many rooms and courtyards in which you can get lost. They say it's not just like that. The architecture is specially designed in such a way that the concubines did not know which of their competitors would spend the night with the vizier.
After the tour to the palace, we went to the equally famous and beautiful Majorelle Park.
This park was created by the French artist Jacques Majorel. He loved flowers and beautiful plants and had friends among many botanists. Thus, he turned his park into a real botanical garden. He also built a villa here.
In the park you can see many exotic plants from all over the world: palm trees, cacti, bamboo, banana trees - all mixed together. It is very strange to see such different plants side by side.
When the artist died, the garden was left without care, but it was soon bought by the fashion designer Yves-Saint Laurent.
The park has been renovated and opened to the general public. In the park you can also see a beautiful pond and a memorial to Yves Saint Laurent.
And here is the bamboo grove. There's something scrawled on each tree trunk.
It is interesting and unusual that such a European park is located in the very center of an African state.
The trip to Marakkesh has remained in my memory for a long time. The fusion of cultures is simply amazing: Arab, African and European traditions are mixed in one city.
Мне больше дверь большая и маленькая понравилась!
Это как раковины в некоторых уборных: отдельно маленькие для детей, отдельно для взрослых)
