Today we travelled in rain and strong winds to Peggy's Cove, a fishing village in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, approx. 43 km south of Halifax. It is one of the most famous and most photographed places in Canada, comparable to Heidelberg and Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Today, the village has a population of about 30 and is known for its romantic charm, its picturesque location on the east coast of St Margaret's Bay and the historic Peggy's Point lighthouse.
Shot History
Peggy's Cove was founded in 1811 by six families of German descent. The name "Peggy's Cove" probably comes from Saint Margaret's Bay, which Samuel de Champlain named after his mother Marguerite Le Roy. The town is also known for its fishing and lobstering.
The 40-minute drive to Peggy's Cove is also a pleasure. A small country road along the coast, past picturesque little houses and coves that, if it hadn't been raining, would invite you to linger.
Peggy's Cove is very well laid out and parking was no problem. There are small galleries of local artists everywhere and of course some souvenir shops. There was also a painting competition on our day and a number of painters were scattered around Peggy's Cove competing to paint motifs. Even an albhorn player did his best.
At first we thought that the weather was not so good to go there, but as it was such a rainy and windy day, it had a special atmosphere and made this day an unforgettable experience. Here is a little film showing a few impressions of the day.
Finally, we went to a small local restaurant and ended our stay in Peggy's Cove with a very tasty seafood platter and lobster pasta.

Vater & Sohn in Kanada - Peggy's Cove

Truly an amazing place, I imagined how beautiful it is if it's on a sunny day. Keep safe and have many more trips with both of you. Enjoy!
Thanks
You are right, last October I was alone at Peggy Cove on a suny day.
But I liked it this time more. The atmophere was more naturely
That looks so lovely! I love this kind of family trips. No matter if they are to a romantic place or not, they definitely feel a lot more intense than most of the trips in general! I'm saying that from the experience of travelling most of the time with my family and enjoying it even more than when doing it with friends :)
Thanks
No problem!
