Hello everyone. Today we took a walk along the beach in the Pratumnak area. This is a popular area in Pattaya that offers lively holiday experience with its beaches, restaurants and attractions. There are many residential buildings here, including those with sea views. A large number of Europeans live in this area. When we visited some apartments here we saw many tourists around the pools.
There are also fruit sections, but the prices are not listed. We can’t evaluate the prices, except for durian fruit, which is labeled. Small pieces range from 150 to 650 Baht. Right now strawberries are also available, grown in the northern region of Thailand, Chiang. The season is about to end. I don’t know the exact price, but it shouldn’t be more than 100 Baht. If it is then it’s expensive. They also sell fruit wines here, aged between three and ten years. The most interesting one is labeled KVN. We haven’t tried the fruit wines here yet, but we once tasted mangosteen wine. There are also many massage parlors along the road, with new ones constantly opening.
After walking for a bit we headed towards Cozy Beach. In my opinion this is the most beautiful beach in Thailand. There are many high-rise buildings and beautiful apartments here. At one point we considered living here. We even looked at a sea-view apartment at the beach. But later, our daughter started school and commuting every day became too difficult. So we moved elsewhere. However, if you don’t need to travel daily. Perhaps if you work remotely and have your own vehicle Cozy Beach could be a great place for long-term living. It could also be an ideal spot for winter stays.
There are many street vendors here. There is also a 7-Eleven and prices are quite reasonable. For example, three mangoes cost 80 Baht, which is about a kilogram. Small pineapples are sold for 70 Baht. Fresh fruits are very popular and sell out quickly, but they are restocked regularly. And cocktails are available for 8 Baht and sugary drinks for 40 Baht. Cozy beach is in a slightly inconvenient location because it’s quite far to reach by tuk-tuk. A motorbike taxi ride costs 39 Baht, while a regular taxi costs 75 Baht. So these are the prices. If you’re only looking to buy some fruit, it may not be worth the trip, as you’d be wasting time. But if you need to buy in bulk, then it makes sense to go.
We arrived at the Cozy Beach Hotel, which is a nice hotel with sea-view rooms. Fruits are also sold here, such as coconuts for 60 Baht. Overall the prices are reasonable. As we walked towards the sea, we enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere. The trees here provide shade and there is also a lovely café. We always pass by this place, but we have never eaten here. The pizza prices are also reasonable, around 300 Baht.
There are many restaurants in the area, but in my opinion, Sky Gallery has the best view. Since it was the first restaurant to open here, it secured the best location, unobstructed by trees, offering a clear sea view. There is also a chocolate factory nearby. Prices at these restaurants are slightly above average, but the view is stunning. It’s an excellent place for a special occasion. Visiting during sunset is a great idea, as the beach looks beautiful at that time. The evening lights are also very charming. Almost every restaurant has its own parking space, but when leaving, you usually need to show your restaurant receipt. Otherwise they charge a 100 Baht parking fee. Of course, it also depends on whether the security guard notices or not. But if you’re dining at a restaurant, parking there is a better option.
As we headed down to the beach, we found another restaurant called For the Sky, which was the previous Sky Gallery restaurant. They serve both Thai and European cuisine and the food here is really delicious. The atmosphere is also great and the view is quite nice. Here’s a tip: you can also use another parking area nearby.
Currently the tide is slightly receding. This hillside used to have a lot of greenery, but due to drought, some areas are now bare. By the way, speedboat transfers to Ko Lan Island are available here, costing 350 Baht per person. Private boat rentals are also an option and daily trips to Ko Lan operate between 9 am and 12 pm. The boats depart from this beach, so there’s no need to go to the pier.
There are plenty of open spaces on the beach here and people are more spread out. Wong Amat was much more crowded, with people at almost every step. Here, however, you can easily find a spot. The sea is calm right now, with not too many waves and the water looks absolutely beautiful with its stunning color. This beach has a more peaceful atmosphere. People are reading books, watching the sea and simply relaxing. Watching the sunset at Cozy Beach is also a wonderful experience. The view from here is breathtaking and some of the restaurants even have live music. There are no big crowds, making it an ideal place for a quiet evening.
There was also a yoga event here, which was really enjoyable. Open-air yoga classes are held and anyone can join. These events take place once a month and in addition, there are yoga classes four times a week. I tried it and it turned out to be an amazing form of exercise. After the class there was a tea session, which I really enjoyed. It had a very relaxing effect on my body and now I’m sipping a delicious tea. I wish I had known about this place earlier.
Tonight’s sunset was spectacular. I hope this post has given you a more comprehensive idea about the Pratumnak area. See you soon.
