A long time ago I did not take photos of these historical giants, it is known as Plaza de Mayo but it is not in the place itself, they are different corners that make up the area. A very tourist and visually attractive place in all kinds of aspects, historical, cultural, architecture, design, politics, gastronomy and religion. The first photo is the palace of the Buenos Aires Legislature, a building that is relatively flat compared to others.
It is quite popular and known by the tower of almost 100 meters that is seen from several angles, The building has almost a century old, it was built in 1931. It has a design inspired by French neoclassicism.
Another of the building that highlights the Municipal Palace... I took two photos with different prospects of its different facades, You can see its two couples and its tower that houses a clock. It is one of the most important buildings in the area that relevant heritage value, opened in 1894. This one had an initial headquarters, an building with smaller dimensions but over the years it was expanding and remodeling.
Cabildo de Buenos Aires...
We can say that this is the number one building in terms of history, the most emblematic and is located right in front of the Plaza de Mayo. The building has lost dimensions throughout the year, has suffered remodelings resulting in a smaller structure. The first building was inaugurated in 1748 and was hugeee, It had a tower too high and the design was different, many more details and more imposing. The current building was inaugurated in 1940 and is only 33 meters high, more flat, less details and could say simpler.
I will take the daring to attach an old photo of this building, since I am mentioning these aspects and this significant change in appearance and remodeling. It seems to me that a reference image is necessary to make a comparison.
This photo is more focused on street photography more than something particular, people crossing the avenue And in the framework you can see part of the buildings of the Buenos Aires Legislature that I mentioned at the beginning. In the background there is also a fragment of one of the towers of the Municipal Palace building.
This is an area that they have destined for gastronomy, one of the restaurants that is in the corner placed its tables there generating a pleasant atmosphere for tourists mostly. It is from that point where much of the urban landscape is observed, very close to the Plaza de Mayo and overlooking the different buildings. Some call it little Paris in Buenos Aires.
I can deduce that this building has a lot of influence of French architecture.
Oh the majestic metropolitan cathedral from a different perspective, using a wide angle to highlight its columns. I have already shared an article related to this religious house that next to the Cabildo shares history of similar times.
This is a building that has a certain neo -army influence, is headquarters or parent home of a national bank, use of offices. Although it is not part of the surroundings of the Plaza de Mayo, it is very close. The area where it is known is known as North Diagonal.
I hope it is article has been of your interest in the aspect that best suits your preferences, photography, architecture, urban landscapes or the same information.
Have an excellent day :)
