Travel Blog Post 08 - Ji Hotel In Shanghai, China

in TravelFeed3 days ago

Hi there. Here is another travel blog post by me. This post covers my thoughts on Ji Hotel in Shanghai, China.

From Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station To Ji Hotel

In the previous travel post it was going from Hangzhou to Shanghai with a short high speed train ride. With Trip.com I booked hotel rooms for our travel group. I went with Ji Hotel as the pictures looked nice, the location was near a metro station and the hotel was near The Bund.

The location of this Ji Hotel was No. 197 Xietu East Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. It is 400 metres or a 6 minute walk away from Lujiabang Road Metro Station.

Shanghai Metro's system is quite big and complicated. Coming from the Toronto area, this Shanghai Metro system is not easy. I did a bit of research beforehand. From the Hongqiao Railway Station take Line 2 (Lime Green) to People's Square. Switch metro lines at People's Square to Line 8 (Blue Line). Take the train southbound to Lujiabang Road (below Laoximen). Take Exit 2 and walk straight.

Ji Hotel Room

Here are pictures of our room. It was a family room which had 1 single bed and 1 full bed.

Giant Wall Mounted TV
Provided Light Dipsoable Slippers

The hotel room provides tea and a large TV.

The washroom area is kind of interesting. It is a room with a smart automatic flush toilet with a shower room. In that way you could have someone on the toilet and someone in the shower.

In the shower room, those two pump bottles are shampoo and conditioner.

I ordered two family rooms. The cost was 4138 CNY (Chinese Yuan currency) for 3 nights. That would be 1379 CNY for 1 night for two rooms or around 689 CNY for 1 night for 1 room. This 689 CNY amount is around 131 CAD (0.19 CAD for CNY).

This Ji Hotel is really nice. A hotel room like this in Toronto would be much more expensive than 131 CAD. I wish I had more pictures but these ones give you an idea how nice this room is.

My only con with this Ji Hotel is that it is not easy to carry luggage up the small set of stairs to the elevator near the front desk lobby. (Not shown here.)

Thank you for reading.
