Hi there. In this short China travel blog post I showcase Piao Home Inn in Beijing. We did 3 nights for 2 rooms (5 of us).
Beijing's Prices For Stays A Bit Higher Than I Thought
I was somewhat surprised that hotel prices in Beijing were a little bit higher than Shanghai.
For 2 rooms and 3 nights it was 7200 CNY at the time. 563.46 CNY service fee was included in the room rate. I booked the rooms through Trip.com and I had a Silver Tier Deal. This Silver deal gave me a 1080 CNY discount which is around 200 CAD. Not bad of a discount.
Since this place was not a big hotel I think VISA was not accepted or something. I forgot the fine details. Maybe I did not have a high enough credit/debit limit for a time period. One member of our travel group paid with Wechat Pay.
Location of Piao Home Inn
Address
Piao Home Inn (Beijing Qianmen Dashilan)
NO.17 Hanjia Hutong, West Street Zhushikou, Xicheng District, Beijing, 100050, China
The location of this place is near the main tourist area of Beijing. It is near Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Qianmen Street food area.
It is located in an area filled with hutongs. Navigation to the nearest metro is tricky without a location app and at night. The hutongs here are somewhat run down and old.
Pictures
I wish I took more pictures but here they are. The pictures of of the room and outside the hotel.
There are families with kids that go here. I guess that is why they have that cute pillow on the bed.
Sleeping on the beds was okay. Pretty comfy for the most part. No complaints there.
The bathrooms were nice, clean and modern looking.
Other Notes
The next time in Beijing I would pay more for a nicer place. Something closer to a metro station. Summer in Beijing was super warm and humid. It was around 35 degrees Celsius in the afternoons.
Just be more mindful when arriving in Beijing. You may have to spend more.
Location was okay as in good and bad, service was good, rooms were okay. No elevator and stairs only can be a turnoff for older people.
