After some time in Curitiba, I've taken up on a friend's invitation to return to Foz do Iguaçu and stay at his house for a while. We share a lot of ideals in common regarding Nature and achieving a society that is based on understanding of our possibilities rather than just fitting into the mold.
He runs a bike shop and has an agroforestry project going on in his backyard though he recently returned from Chile and things are moving a bit slow. To help him pick up the pace I've started an Instagram as I feel it's a good tool for local business advertising.
It's been cool to watch him work and learn about bikes as it's something that incredibly useful if you like to travel. It would be great to know how to build a bike from scavenged parts as I always tend to run into them. I'll need to start building my toolkit first.
A damaged central movement. We've been doing some reels too both as publicity and educational content. If you want to see them go to @pedalvermhelio.foz , though its in Portuguese.
There's plenty of tools that are new for me and it would take me a while to get to know them well. I hope business can pick up before I leave so that I get chances to practice and learn.
The entrance to the shop, located in Felipe Wandscheee 4931, in case any of you have ever any need of bike repair in this part of the world. In a next post I'll share the agroforestry my friend does in his yard.
I've been thinking a lot about what my next steps should be, there's so many options to take from here. I could even head back to Chile hahaha, but the north of Chile is so dry and dessertic that it might not be such a good idea. Maybe walking through Paraguay towards Bolivia, then Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and finally Venezuela seems like an interesting and adventurous route. I know things aren't good in Venezuela but much can happen before I get there.
There's also the possibility of continuing north of Brasil, but I am starting to feel a bit tired of understanding half of what people say and having to make so much effort to do so. The again, if I leave I'll probably start to forget much of what I've learnt so far, so there's that.
What would you do? Is there any place around here you would just love to visit?
@mrprofessor ;<)
Whatever it may be, it wasn't me.
Oh, hi xD
Summoning the guru of bike travels eh?
Sending Love and Ecency Vote!
🙏🙏👍👍👍
Oh I'd love to be travelling. I think you should just keep walking and see where you end up. If you find somewhere good, then be there for a while or not. But moving is always good. Sending you a hug xxx
That's the best way, traveling for the sake of the journey and not the destination 🤜🤛
Rapaaaiz, moeu o central ferozmente
Moeu pa caralho 😂😂
@mrprofessor @fenngen And here I thought I spoke Portuguese... ;<)
Not much slang, I guess.
Hahah to be fair, I had to translate @mrprofessor 's reply to understand what he was saying.
Anyway, you're losing your multilingual monopoly Vincent, better get to learning a new language soon 😉
Wait, what? Aren't you Brazillian? {confused}
@diaryofacreative 🤣🤣
Você fala Português?
Si, eu - o alterego de @vincentnijman - vivo em Portugal desde 2018.
Então falamos Português a partir de agora xDDD
Nah bro, I'm from Chile, only in Brasil a few months now
Ah, gotcha! Love Chile btw, been all over Patagonia a few years ago
I need to go for a 9th language!?!?
Exaggerating a little bit ( counting high school Greek and Latin too and I am not fluent in all languages I learnt ). I was actually thinking of learning some Italian, as I will go to Italy in 3 weeks time. At least that one is related to a bunch of languages that I already know.
