Happy start of the week to all of you! Today I want to share with you what was our visit to the Wine Factory of Colonia Tovar, in the Aragua State of Venezuela. Already being in the center of the town we have to start a new journey even higher to get to the Müsle Wein Factory. The recommendation is to go up in a rustic car, so we used the same ones that are in the village, although with the first climb I discovered that perhaps it was a little rough for our mothers. She enjoyed the trip, however it was the first of several tours that day.
La Ponderosa
¡Feliz inicio de semana para todos!. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue nuestra visita a la Fábrica de Vinos de la Colonia Tovar, en el Estado Aragua de Venezuela. Ya estando en el centro del pueblo hay que comenzar un nuevo viaje aún más alto para llegar a la Fábrica Müsle Wein. La recomendación es subir en un coche rústico, así que usamos los mismos que hay en el pueblo, aunque con la primera subida descubrí que quizás era un poco rudo para nuestras madres. Ella disfrutaron el viaje, sin embargo fue el primer recorrido de varios que se hicieron ese día.
Wine tasting
We arrived at what looked like a small house with the name “La Ponderosa” written on the entrance, the facade was nothing impressive, but inside it was one of the coziest places we could visit in Colonia Tovar. The first thing the people who work here do is offer a tasting of the popular Colonia Tovar wines to tourists, my wife and our mothers were there, but I went ahead to explore the place.
Llegamos a lo que parecía una pequeña casa con el nombre de "La Ponderosa" escrito en la entrada, la fachada no era nada impresionante, pero dentro era uno de los lugares más acogedores que pudimos visitar en la Colonia Tovar. Lo primero que hacen las personas que trabajan aquí es ofrecer una degustación de los populares vinos de la Colonia Tovar a los turistas, mi esposa y nuestras madres estaban ahí, pero yo me adelante para explorar el lugar.
The patio was a dream place, it was very cozy, it had chairs and tables to sit and hang out and the viewpoints were of the hills that surround Colonia Tovar and the small town, the church could be seen in the distance, and I realized that we had climbed many more meters. It was adorned with small houses similar to the ones in the center, but it was just for people to take pictures. As I have said in other posts, there were too many people sightseeing like us, it is almost impossible to appreciate everything this way, let alone take good pictures, but here I share with you this album so you can draw in your mind an idea of what we experienced there.
El patio era un lugar de ensueño, era muy acogedor, tenía sillas y mesas para sentarse a pasar el rato y los miradores era de las colinas que envuelven a la Colonia Tovar y del pueblito, la iglesia podía verse a lo lejos, y me di cuenta que habíamos subido muchos metros más. Estaba adornado con pequeñas casitas parecidas a las que había en el centro, pero solo era para que las personas se tomaran fotografías. Como he dicho en otros posts, había demasiada gente haciendo turismo como nosotros, es casi imposible apreciar todo de esta manera, y mucho menos tomar fotografías buenas, pero aquí les comparto este álbum para que puedan dibujar en su mente una idea de lo que vivimos allá.
The House
This beautiful house was located at the end of the courtyard. It had many colonial details and was large, with an exquisite garden. I was disappointed to discover that entering it was not part of the tour, apparently it is private property, but in this place we took the opportunity to shop and have some wine and relax for a while before continuing our extensive full day trip in Colonia Tovar, as this day we got to know many corners of that town. We also took some nice family pictures here, a tourist kindly did us the favor.
Esta hermosa casa se encontraba al final del patio. Tenía muchos detalles coloniales y era grande, con un jardín exquisito. Me decepcionó descubrir que entrara a ella no era parte del paseo, al parecer es propiedad privada, pero en este lugar aprovecharnos de comprar y tomar un poco de vino y relajarnos un rato antes de continuar con nuestro extenso viaje full day en la Colonia Tovar, ya que este día conocimos muchos rincones de ese pueblo. También nos tomamos unas lindas fotos familiares aquí, un turista amablemente nos hizo el favor.

Saludos amigo, que buena toda esa gran experiencia y ese sitio es una de las maravillas que tiene Venezuela, por su gran estilo y genial que hayan conocido y tener la oportunidad de degustar vino y conseguir muy buenas fotos para el recuerdo. Momentos como ese siempre serán únicos.
Yo ando antojada de un viajecito a la Colonia, pero no han sacado más viajes para allá desde mi ciudad. En vacaciones (Agosto) los hacían todos los fines de semana. Ese lugar es de ensueño, y en tu publicación conocí lugares que nunca había visitado, me transmitió mucha paz, los colores tan vivos de la naturaleza de allá la hacen muy hermosa.
