Today I want to share with you another of my favorite meditation caves in this paradise region called the Garden Route, on the south coast of Africa.
This is the perfect place to get away from the onslaughts of the world and find your own peaceful hideaway. As you can see in the video clip, this place is deserted and seldom seen by anyone at all. At most you might find one or two fishermen foraging for bait or throwing a line for their subsistence.
Other than that, you can have the entire cove for yourself. And I have found just the cave for you if you’re not ready to head to the Himalayas just yet, but still want a meditation retreat where you won’t be disturbed by anyone. After all, that’s what life is meant for, at the end of the day. When the kids have grown up and we are ready to retire, then a peaceful and temperate zone like the Garden Route coastline here in this remote stretch of the southern African coastline is just the place to find yourself once more.
Life can be hectic for all of us, with gains and losses along the way, friends and family coming and going with time. In the end we have to leave it all behind anyway, so the idea is to do it consciously and with a happy heart. And that peace of mind and content heart can be found when we let go of all the things we cling to. We can do this by finding a peaceful meditation cave to sit in for a few hours at a time, allowing the mind to become calm and still, as we remain receptive to the unending rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the shore.
In this type of setting, it’s possible to remember our true natures, realign our assemblage point, and tap in to the healing power of the natural surroundings. Also there is less electromagnetic pollution and one can feel really grounded once more.
There are plenty of caves for the aspiring yogi or meditator along these epic shores at the southern coast of Africa. This is yet another of the several I have encountered along my hikes and explorations of this stretch. The air is clear and fresh, while remaining warm and temperate all year long. This place is life supporting and truly uplifting to the mood and state of mind.
So if you need a meditation cave for yourself, then come for a visit and I will show you around. If you find a cave that you like, then maybe you can move in and spend your golden years focusing on the main priority of life, namely awakening of our eternal consciousness and self-realization. Everything else was a preparation for this. All we need is the right set and setting, and we can fulfil our original potential as eternal spirit souls living in a temporary material body.
This particular cave is situated on the cliffs near the town of Plettenberg Bay in the Garden Route region of South Africa. The town is just a stones throw away and yet this cave allows one to feel private and remote, with no chance of disturbance because locals don’t really make the effort to explore here nearly as much as they could. Most folks prefect he pretty white sandy beaches further along, where the waves are great for surfing. So these cliffs and their hidden caves remain available for the brooding romantics and introspective mystics like me.
If you ever feel the need to escape the crazy world around you, then feel inspired to come and check out Plettenebrg Bay and the Garden Route region for its numerous hideaway beaches and retreat spaces. You will find a space that suits your temperament, where you can become peaceful, calm and centered once more. It’s just the place you might want to share with a friend.

Great spot. I'm not sure it would be good for meditation though the echo (imo) is to loud.
Hey there yes the crashing waves echo loudly in this cave. It's not for everyone. There are some other silent options for you.
