Hi, Arni. Woah, you were there? I searched videos about the disaster on Youtube when I wrote this. It was really chilling! The ash plume was so high and massive that the surroundings looked like it was at night when it was really still in the day. People holding umbrellas not only against rain, but against ashfall. I was just awe-stricken by the fact that I went to something so beautiful which was also capable of causing destruction. It's humbling to think of nature this way.
Anyway, you should really visit Mt. Pinatubo sometime after this pandemic is over. Can't wait to travel again after all of this is over 😅
Hi Kaycee, I remember waking up one morning with our faces covered with ash fall. We were in Manila then and that was how strong the eruption was, the ash fall reached and spread throughout the metropolis. My brother was studying in a seminary school in Bacolor Pampanga when it happened. Luckily, all students were asked to go home to their families and everyone evacuated when the volcano showed signs of activity. That weekend their school was buried under the lahar flow.
I very much agree, it's humbling indeed that such a disastrous event transformed into something beautiful and how something so beautiful could cause such havoc as well reminiscent to what happened to Taal early this year.
Hopefully the last quarter of 2020 brings us better news (the optimist side of me speaking). Would really like to see Mt. Pinatubo. 🙂
Oh wow, I can only imagine 😱 Good thing you and your family were safe. I was in Manila when Taal erupted, but luckily, our place wasn't that affected. Although, we noticed ashfall in our terrace. But that's it. Batangas was all gray from the ashfall.
I hope there's no more natural disasters for what's left in 2020 🤞 Quotang quota na tayo haha!
Grabe 2020, quota na talaga. Have a lovely week!
