Camino a la Isla de Margarita- Venezuela//On the way to Margarita Island - Venezuela

Hola, seguimos de viaje en casa por la cuarentena, esta experiencia me ha permitido valorar tantas cosas, entre ellas la libertad, esa que damos por sentada. Hoy nos encontramos simplemente presos en nuestros hogares. Y aun así me siento realmente afortunada, todo esto me ha permitido evocar grandes momentos en mi vida.

Hello, we are still travelling at home through the quarantine, this experience has allowed me to value so many things, among them freedom, that which we take for granted. Today we are simply prisoners in our homes. And yet I feel really lucky, all this has allowed me to evoke great moments in my life.

Este viaje fue uno de esos que se podían hacer en Venezuela de cuando uno quisiera (bueno hace algunos años), sin planificar mucho, recuerdo que mi hermana me dijo: “este fin de semana es largo, el lunes es día no laborable, ¿quieres ir a Margarita?, así de sencillo era todo, sin ningún reparo le dije que sí. El viernes al salir del trabajo pase buscando algo de ropa, le informamos a mi padre que se arreglara que íbamos a salir.

This trip was one of those that could be made in Venezuela whenever one wanted (well, a few years ago), without planning much, I remember my sister telling me: "this weekend is long, Monday is a non-working day, do you want to go to Margarita, that's how simple it was, without any qualms I said yes. On Friday, when I left work, I went looking for some clothes, we informed my father that we were going to go out.

Ese día viajamos desde Barbacoas, Estado Aragua, hasta Puerto la Cruz Estado Anzoátegui, para irnos en ferri, llegábamos comprábamos los boletos y nos disponíamos hacer la cola para montar el carro, eso fue lo más fastidioso del viaje, sin embargo debíamos disfrutar cada segundo porque el viaje era por apenas un fin de semana, es por ello que decidimos disfrutarnos la cola.

That day we traveled from Barbacoas, Aragua State, to Puerto la Cruz, Anzoátegui State, to go by ferry, we arrived to buy the tickets and we were going to queue to mount the car, that was the most annoying thing of the trip, however we had to enjoy every second because the trip was for just a weekend, that's why we decided to enjoy the queue.

Por alguna extraña razón siempre comprábamos los boletos en zona vip, pero la mayoría del trayecto la pasábamos en la zona de turista, es algo maravillo contemplar la inmensidad del mar, sentir la brisa en la cara, muchos se llevan su hamacas y pasan todo el viaje allí.

For some strange reason we always bought the tickets in the VIP area, but most of the trip we spent in the tourist area, it's something wonderful to contemplate the immensity of the sea, feel the breeze on your face, many take their hammocks and spend the whole trip there.

Fue muy alentador ver la sonrisa de mi padre en todo este viaje, como hijos es muy gratificante tratar de retribuir con pequeños gestos todo lo que nuestros padres hacen por nosotros, solo de adultos comprendemos y valoramos todo lo que un padre es capaz de hacer por su hijos.

It was very encouraging to see my father's smile throughout this journey, as son it is very rewarding to try to give back with small gestures everything our parents do for us, only as adults we understand and value everything a parent is capable of doing for their son.

Por la condición actual del país hacer un viaje como ese, sin planificar, sería casi imposible, pero confió en que en algún momento podamos volver a tener el poder adquisitivo de hace algunos años, y con el fruto de nuestro trabajo poder darnos esos momentos de descanso que todos necesitamos en algún momento.

Because of the current condition of the country, to make a trip like that, without planning, would be almost impossible, but I am confident that at some point we will be able to return to the purchasing power of some years ago, and with the fruit of our work be able to give us those moments of rest that everyone needs at some point.
