Cleveland parkrun, Queensland, Australia.

in TravelFeedlast month

After 10 years of parkrunning I want to make sure I have every different event I have been to, on the travelfeed map. I love the map! as it is like a great photo album of trips and adventures. It is a easy way of finding photos instead of having to try and remember what tags, headings or relying on a search engine to sort through thousand of posts.

Cleveland parkrun started back in May 2013, I did not hear about it until I saw a report in the old local paper in February 2014. I have run there 41 times my fastest time for the five kilometer event is 20:55. I still hope to go faster one day but I am getting old. It might just be wiser to set my goal on my average time of 23:45

I love this course! An out and back starting at Henry Ziegenfusz park then along the board walk and through the mangroves. There are a couple of short hills but nothing to hard to manage.

Volunteering as the tail walkers to make sure no one get left behind.

I often ride the course as well, the mangroves give a bit of cool shade on a hot day.

I had to search through a lot of old Facebook posts to find all these photos but it was fun to put them all together.

I think I was the twenty seven and a half minute pacer on this day. Making sure my watch display was set to show average pace makes the job easy.

Cleveland is also the home of the oldest parkrunner in the world, to reach the 500 events done milestone. At 93 this is quite an achievement as parkrun started a lot early in England but I suppose we get nicer weather most of the year so it might be a bit easier to get up on the cold winter mornings.
