The first week of April is almost over but the weather feels like it won't be summer as usual. I've always been traveling in the past but the bulk of my travels was strategically scheduled during the summer season here in the Philippines. Although you might have heard that it's always summer in the Philippines, summer actually falls from the month of March to mid-May. And on these months, I would block 12 days straight for my backpacking because I am sure I'd get to explore places while it was sunny. I hate to travel during the rainy season. 😞
But now, here in Cebu, we might have seen a couple of sunny days every now and then but the majority of the days since March started have always been raining. The other day, while my boss and I were on our way for lunch out with a possible solutions provider, we talked about how weird the weather has been in the last few weeks. And yes, climate change is real. Last night I came across a news article that there's a low-pressure area (LPA) in the southeastern part of the country near Davao. What? A LPA during summer? I never heard of such a thing in the past. It's supposed to be scorching hot this week and next week (Lent). I clearly remember how we'd bring around fans, turn on electric fans at home because the warm days were unbearable without help but now, I have a thick jacket in the office (in case it gets too cold) and I always remind my boyfriend to bring extra clothing just in case it rains too hard and he'll be drenched while riding his motorcycle.
I don't feel like making plans for summer when I'm not sure if there will truly be summer this year here in Cebu. I hope the sky clears next week, for now here's a throwback of what summer used to look like.

Nah, summer's not coming when it's supposed to be coming already @htrang2002! Another typhoon is about to hit the country. 😔

Hi @patsitivity, hope summer arrives soon there. It's the first hopefully "safe" summer to travel since the pandemic. It's just the beginning of April. Crossing my fingers it comes there soon 🤞so you can travel 😊 Really enjoy reading your travel posts 😁
For us, here in Region IV, it's been sunny since March. But this week, it's been drizzling. At least it was during weekdays. Anyway, hoping for a sunny summer for both of us
Hi @laviesm! No summer for us here in Visayas and Mindanao huhu it's typhoon season in the summer, that's crazy! It's been raining all weekend and even now still gloomy.
