Quick educational visit of Trou au Cerfs with my daughter…

in TravelFeed8 months ago

Its already been 2 weeks since I visited this dormant volcano along with my nephew…

And on that visit, I decided that I have to bring my daughter to visit it too, as she will be learning volcanoes at school and a visit will be much beneficial to her.
And some days back, we finally did it.
After picking her from her tuition, we drove to Trou au Cerfs, which is only 2 minutes away from her tuition place.

On the spot learning is the best way of teaching…

I always believe in teaching my kids on the spot and with live examples…

When we reached the volcano, Rheem had so many questions in her head and I was there showing and explaining while enjoying the beauty of nature.

We spent very little time over there as we had to get back home to break our fast for Ramadan.
But in that little time, I managed to make her walk around the crater and also she got to see the mouth of the volcano too.
These small teachings will surely be beneficial for her at school.

Benches and relaxing areas are present all around the volcano…

I think the way the authorities have organized the area around Trou au Cerfs is simply great…

No vehicles are allowed over there making it very safe and you can bring along your kids too. You get benches to sit and relax after long walks around the crater…

Check out some photos I took that day…

If you zoom in this photos, you will see a monkey walking on the fence…

All her questions were answered…

I explained maximum things I know on volcanoes specially this one which is a dormant one. My daughter got to see live and direct the crater and the mouth of a volcano.
We also talked about lava, the magma, the pipe, the explosion if ever it will be active, what the risks will be for the inhabitants around etc…

Oh yes, a nice moment spent with my daughter at this dormant volcano…very educational indeed.

If you are visiting Mauritius someday, you definitely need to visit Trou au Cerfs with your kids, they’ll love the experience.
Next time I have plans to bring over my son and make him discover what a volcano is…

I am sure he will love it.

As for my daughter…she asked to visit it again soon as we spent too little time and she wanted more!
And for sure I will bring her again…but first let the month of Ramadan be over first.

Until the next visit which I will share here again, wish you all a wonderful day/evening ahead!
