Just over one month ago I left Myanmar, where I had been working for more than a year, to live in Italy -- stories in and of themselves for another day. With the crisis in Italy escalating I had to move the trip up several times and I did what I could to savor the best of Myanmar while still possible, going out to tea shops for almost every morning the last week. Even though I'm eating incredibly well in Italy (and safe and sound most importantly) I'm missing those breakfasts a lot these days.
Shan noodles with pickled mustard and extra chili, Burmese-style samosas, bottomless green tea, fresh juice. It's definitely something that should be exported worldwide. So satisfying.
