Big Ben is the most famous Landmark in London
I dare to day that this clock is probably the most famous clock in the World. This is the Big Ben in London, one of the most famous, visited and probably photographed landmarks in the whole country.
And you know if there is a movie scene in London, the Big Ben will appear so people know that you are in London. That is the go to identify the city.
Is it the clock tower a pretty sigh. I would say so. But I wouldn't say that is one of the most beautiful things you will see in London.
I for sure would advice you to go there, because the whole area is very nice, and this is just next to the London Eye. That whole area is very pretty, but you won't need too long to see it all around.
Check it out, get your photos to keep as a memory and just keep exploring the city.
Because this is the most Popular landmark in London, together with the London Eye, get ready for the area to be always busy and full of tourists, there is no peace in this area.
And since this is so central and in such a busy area of London, it doesn't help, you have Londoners all the time going by and just going on with their regular life. Expect to be always crowded in the area.
Here you also see the houses of the parliament, the centre of the political system of the whole country, the residence of the Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street, that you always see in the news, it is also a 5 minutes walk away, and a lot more of political offices and jobs are in this area.
So the security is always really high and there will always be protests going on. So be careful with that.
Always pay attention to your surroundings, there are a lot of people pickpocketing around this area, and also all over central London.
Another huge problem, are the mobile theft, when someone comes from nowhere on a bicycle or a motorbike and just get the phones out of your hands. So keep that in mind and don't walk around with your phone in your hands unless it is attatched to you in some way.
This place is also a short walk from many other places in central London that are worth to visit, so when planning your journey, know that you can do it all by walking around and see places like SOHO, China Town, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, The Buckingham Palace, and way more, all just by walking from a place to another.
I would recommend to add it to your route, and to visit the area, but do not expect to see something out of the other world, it is a tower with a clock, and it is not even that big! But it is worth to visit and see for what it is and all the history behind it.
As a Londoner, now and then I like to walk by and appreciate the area, although as soon as I get there, I remember why I don't visit more often, all the people and how busy it is.
