Finding Sea-renity at Lambug Beach in Badian, Cebu

Heya! This is Stella, and I'm elated to share with you another travel blog on your feed. This time, I'm taking you far to the south of Cebu. Lately, I've been sharing impressive attractions in the midst of the cityscapes, and no doubt those places bring out the best of urban life. However, in this blog, it's time to take a breath of fresh air—somewhere different, new, and pleasing at every angle. Allow me to take you to Lambug Beach in Badian, Cebu, Philippines!

This place that you're about to unravel holds a special place in me. As a matter of fact, this is most likely the best beach I've ever been to. Once in a while, my family and I visit my father's hometown, Badian. Every time we stayed for a vacation, we never missed making things even more exciting and memorable by going to Lambug Beach. And as someone who's been there quite a few times, you have to believe me when I say that every visit would feel like the first time! The anticipation never fades when getting to experience its beauty firsthand. So if you're curious, I won't delay this any further, and I'll introduce Lambug Beach to you from my point of view!

The Road to Lambug Beach

I'm not good at giving directions, to be honest (haha), but experience-wise, I'll narrate how we got to our desired destination, which is only by car, so we just had to take one ride. Our house in Badian is located near the Poblacion, the center of the municipality, so starting from there to Lambug Beach takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Considering its remote location, gladly, it's rare for the traffic conditions to delay our travel. I've noticed tricycles parked around Poblacion, so most probably you can also get there as its transportation. From Cebu City to Badian, the travel would take about 3-4 hours (depends on the traffic conditions).

One thing I love while traveling to the beach is the picturesque view from the road. I can't help but be amazed by the vast fish farms and green fields, paired with the fresh air. What's even more astounding is going higher to a road where you can see the breathtaking horizon and mountains looking as if the clouds just took a rest at the top of it!

The Beach at First Sight

Upon arriving at Lambug Beach, you'll be greeted by the sound of karaoke from different cottages, kids giggling by the shore as they form their sandcastles, young ones going for a beach volleyball despite the warm sun, and families gathered and taking photos together. It's no surprise as well if you'll see several foreign tourists here, as they often like to stay and get themselves tanned, go swimming, or snorkeling.

The Tranquil Ambiance

I posted this story once, and the view truly brings out the best of that Instagram aesthetic vibes

Although Lambug Beach is underrated compared to other beaches, I actually like it this way because you can get a better view of the shore and take photos with fewer people in your background. Don't get me wrong, haha, I also want more people to discover this place, but from an ambivert's perspective (mine), Lambug Beach is the perfect place to visit that isn't congested, and your aesthetic photos would look flawless. Taking into account the vastness of the beach and its remote location, the ambiance itself beams with tranquility.

My Unforgettable Visits at Lambug Beach

My first time going there was with my relatives from my father's side. The simple plan to just visit the place turned out to be a reunion, as my aunt would say that it's not every day that we are in Badian and everyone is together. Who would've thought that I was going to have one of the best days of my life? The weather was perfect, and the sea was calm. Of course, I didn't forget to take photos with my cousins and niece.

On another vacation, we took our cousin and her son with us. I must say, the feeling of excitement was fresh as always. Before going for a dip, I made sure I could take lots of beautiful photos. And yet, these pictures could not even justify the beauty of Lambug Beach when witnessed in real life—such a beautiful haven!

From our recent visit there, the people were even fewer. Nonetheless, I must say, whatever time you'd like to visit here, you can still enjoy the beach.

Another interesting thing about Lambug Beach is you can actually view the sunset from here! We intentionally went there a bit late so we could see it; however, the day turned out to be cloudy. Oh well, I'm still glad I could see a bit of it, haha. Hopefully on our next visit, I can finally watch the crimson sunset.

I spent the day with my parents, who enjoyed themselves burying in the sand while we helped them as we formed them into mermaids with a heart shape around them. I also had my two brothers with me, who decided that we should do some quick fishing, haha, but he sucks at it really; also, it wasn't the best time to go fishing because the tide was low. All in all, we still spent the day well. My memories of Lambug Beach could go piling on now, and yet I find no room for complaining.

An interesting fact about me is that my name, "Maris Stella," is Latin, which means "Star of the Sea." And perhaps this can also signify how much I am in love with the sea, that even the word itself is forever etched in my name, and the sight of it is engraved in my heart. Lambug Beach has made this fondness of mine even deeper—the memories, the crystal-clear waves, the therapeutic sand, and the relaxing breeze—it made me realize how beauty isn't made but it's already there and is just waiting to be found, just like life itself, and just like you who is reading this blog. So won't you pair a beauty like yours to a place like Lambug Beach? This is your sign to include this in your bucket list!

Would you like to visit Lambug Beach someday?
