Exploring the secret beauty of Idukki

Good Morning, dear HIVE Community

We reached already the part 5 of my first vlogging experience in south India. I never thought about vlogging, and I like it, as I am able to capture quality moments and share my memories with others.

This morning @ajiunni took me to a very special place near his home in the south Indian Jungle. We wanted to see the sunrise, and for that we woke up so early that outside it was still dark.

This moment was one of a kind, as the jungle slowly came alive and 1000 of birds were singing songs, to welcome the first sun beams.

As the days in the summer here can be up to 46 degrees, it is the coolest time and feels refreshing to be outside. On the way to Aji´s spot, we met already some local villagers on the way to get some water. We hiked through the tea plantations and small forest areas.

Until Aji said to me, can you feel a better smell in this area? I think I must be numb to this kind of changes, as I did not feel anything. Later, he picked a grass stem and said: “smell it”.
Wow! This was so surprising to me—it was the lemon grass.

Soon we reached the place, a hill with the view on the surrounding hills and mountains. The light was so beautiful, and we felt very much alive.

Then I started flying the drone to get a better idea of the place. Flying around made me realize about the hidden beauty I just discovered. I always feel some kind of excitement flying with the drone and especially in this kind of places.

After more than 20 min I realized that the fog cleared and gave a better view on the surrounding place. Then Aji said to me, look there…

It was a group of Indian tourist coming by jeep to discover this place. Suddenly I felt a bit sad, as the road was newly built with purpose to give tourist access to the remote areas of the world.

They produced a lot of noise and smell when they passed by with the rusty car. A man stopped the car and gave me a mask and tried to communicate that because it's so dusty, I will need to wear a mask. I really don't know what to say. I was shocked.

After we had this morning experiencing a beautiful sunrise, we went home to have some good breakfast made by Aji´s mom. After the food, we went with the grandfather and the mother to visit the small farm they are running. This task working on the farm really made me happy, as I felt that I could be helpful. Fast this reality changed, as they were working barefoot, and I could not catch up with their strength. My feet were way too soft, so I just watched them from the small hut.

Back at home we took some refreshments, some lunch, and we started travelling to Erumeli, my next destination.

I was very happy to meet this wonderful people!
