Hello steemians!
This trip was probably my most spontaneous trip and definitely one for the books as lot of first times happened to me during this time. To put into context, I went to Tabuelan, Cebu with the person I just met. That's all I can say for now. Besides, this will be about Maravilla White Beach - a public beach in Barangay Maravilla, Tabuelan, Cebu.
I've been to Tabuelan more than 3 years ago to celebrate our regularization at work. So, I guess I can say that good and happy memories were made in Tabuelan. Anyway, before we delve deeper into this post, I am happy with the diversity of the content of this series. The first two were about our street food adventure at Colon Street, which you can find here:
The succeeding two are about our day trek to Mt. Lanaya, one of the famous mountains to climb in the south of Cebu.
Now, it's just fitting to feature a beach in Cebu. This just means how diverse Cebu is in terms of tourist attractions. There's so much to do here that even when I lived here for 12 years already, I still have gone at least 1/2 of the tourist spots. There was a list of 100 tourist attractions here in Cebu that went viral last year and I was able to visit 43 out 100. Take note that Maravilla White Beach was not even on the list.
As I have said, it was the most spontaneous trip I tried because I didn't plan it. I was just invited and I agreed to go with them. We departed at Cebu North Bus Terminal at around 1:00 AM and arrived at the house of our host at 4:30 AM. We were supposed to rest, but the spontaneity kicked in that we decided to go to the beach. We walked almost 1 kilometer and arrived at the beach when it was still very dark.
Maravilla White Beach at Dawn
Maravilla White Beach is open to the public and has no entrance fee! It's managed by the local tourism office. Cottages, tents, and tables are available for rent if you want to have a place for your belongings.
It was still low tide when we got there. It was a huge sand flat that reflects light because of the remaining seawater on the surface. I never realized it was so magical until I took a photo. Its beauty became more apparent as the sun slowly rises. It was a first for me, so I didn't know I would enjoy the beach at dawn.
As the sun has fully risen, clouds formed so it became a little bit gloomy, but the beach became lively. A lot of people flock the beach. Some were tourists who spent the night in tents, while others were locals foraging for something that could be eaten. We walked further away from the beach and decided to go back to the house where we were staying. Instead of walking at the highway, we decided to explore the beach.
As we walked further away from the beach, the ground changed from white sand to mud. Mangroves patches can also be found which makes the area difficult to navigate. We were complaining, but we had to move on. We haven't slept yet since the night before and we were getting hungry.
It took longer for us to reach our destination, but we really enjoyed sight seeing and looking for sea critters. One of my friends decided to pick some starfishes and brought them home.
Maravilla White Beach in the Afternoon
I slept immediately after arriving the house and I was woken up about two hours after to have a late breakfast. There was a birthday party so everyone was so busy. We had lunch at around 12:30 PM and decided to go back to the beach to spend the afternoon there.
It was a gloomy afternoon, but the beach was so lively. Since it was a long holiday, a lot of people from the city spent their weekends on the beach. The beach was spacious just like in Moalboal and Bantayan Island so it doesn't feel too crowded, but there were really a lot of people there. Most of the cottages are occupied.
I loved the weather that time. It was not so hot and humid. It was windy so it was refreshing. I get to enjoy the sand and the crystal clear water.
I remembered we stayed in Durhan White Beach Resort more than 3 years ago and we were the only tourists who checked in at the resort the whole weekend. Now, resorts are fully booked. I guess there are still hidden gems in Cebu that are waiting to be discovered. In this era, all it takes is one post and the rest would be history.
Before I splashed into the water, I never missed to have a photo for the gram. I guess I was too early for summer.
I guess that's all for this post. I hope you'll like it. If you do, leave a comment down below and show some love. Let's see what my next post will be. Maybe that waterfalls chasing in the south that has been long overdue or that outing we had in one of the resorts in Mactan Island.

Hello kabayan! I was there in Cebu a few times, but never had the opportunity to explore a lot of beaches and resorts (except a few like Camotes Islands, Baskadu White Beach, Kawasan Falls, etc.). You had a great time there! I will follow your posts from here man! Cheers!
Wow! Thank you, @travelfury! I've never been to Camotes yet, but I've been to Basdaku Beach and Kawasan Falls. I still have a lot of spots to visit here in Cebu.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
I have a travel blog post about Camotes Island, you might wanna check it out. At least you have an idea on how to get there, especially their top tourist attractions. Cebu has so many beaches and resorts, especially hidden ones.
I actually checked it out before when it was resteemed by travelfeed. Nice blog right there! I'll check it out again once we decide to visit Camotes.

I always love taking night walks on the beach so I'm happy I've seen some pictures of it during the night. But it's also very charming when it's day too!
I tried taking night photos in beach once in Boracay, Philippines and I loved the result. This time, I tried to replicate it and you're right, it's very charming. But the charm's different during the day.
Hi, @gabrielatravels! So nice of you to pass by. I hope you have a great day. Steem on!
