My first try

in StreetArt3 years ago

I made my very first graffiti stencils last week. I want to try freehand next but I felt stencilling was a nice way to dip my toe in. I chose to use characters from my previous paintings and chalk art.

The painting bought was just normal car paint, I’m not sure how much difference there is with the actual graffiti paint but I will be buying some soon so I will have another go then.

The second one didn’t come out so clear but not sure if that’s because of my spraying or the design of the stencil. My favourite character was the little dude with the scythe and he’s a bit too fuzzy to make out 🙃

It’s all a learning experience though and I have many more sheets of Mylar to keep on practising 😊

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and wish you all the best for 2022!

beautiful work. cutting stencils is a boring job, but there is almost nothing more beautiful than spraying a stencil and being impressed by the result.
it's not that much of a difference. the graffiti spray cans (montana, mtn or molotow) are specifically designed for graffiti, so the characteristics are a little better for spraying on walls. but don't buy regular spray paint at the construction/diy store. that stuff has bad characteristics. the salesman where i bought my spray paint from told me, when i asked him about the bad quality, that they use old ship vanish.

Thank you 🙏
I have the proper graffiti paint now, I just initially bought the car spray for the first ones as I didn’t have anywhere close to get some and postage charges are quite high online! I can see the difference already in finish and coverage with the decent fit for purpose spray cans, also in the drying times too. I am right at the start of my journey with it but it’s been so much fun already I can tell I’m going to enjoy experimenting. 😊

yes it´s a pretty nice thing to do stencil artworks.
so i´m interested in your next artworks, results and ideas.
if you´ve some stencil ideas and do not know how to realice let me know. i do this stuff for years now. so i´ll help you. doesn´t matter which size.

Cool works for a first try with stencil. I like too your little dude with the scythe 👍
