Thank you for commenting. It made a deep impression on us being there. Villa Epecuén is completely ruined. In Carhue the town itself is fine, but by the shore of the lake you can still see all the dead trees. Also the graveyard in Carhue has been destroyd. It was located by the shore of the lake.

That reminded me a lot of a tragedy, specifically a landslide, due to many rains, that took place here in Venezuela in a coastal state in La Guaira, in December 1999, thousands of people died, the ravages were terrible. Despite all the years that have passed there are still signs that this happened, I saw it all with my own eyes as it is a state near the capital where I live, I had acquaintances missing, I visited the site at the time and it was horrible. 😢

Ohhh... I feel so sorry for you having experience something like that. The loss of so many lives and the impact it has on people life many years later. Something you will never forget. Right now we have heavy rainfall in central Norway, lasting many days. Allready it has caused severe landslide and flood. Hundreds of people are evacuated. It is far from where we live, but seeing the devastation on TV does have an effekt on all of us.
