These are some of the newest paintings in Kristiansand. A couple of trips into the city gave me the opportunity to see some of the lastest work by Vlekart and Töddel. The latter is an unknown artist to me.
The artist behind both of these is Töddel. He had never imagined that he would become a street artist. For Töddel it all started with the Covid-19 pandemic. While he was working in his home office he had more time to do other things. He started cutting linoleum and playing with colors and shapes. From there he took the leap out into the street. As far as I know he started in the towns further west. These are the only two I have seen in Kristiansand so far.
The next murals are done by local artist Vlekart. He is well known in Kristiansand. An active artist who can be hard to keep up with.
This is found on a wall of Ernst hotel in Kristiansand. The plane is spraying bio-diversity. On instagram Vlekart wrote «Stop mono-culturism». A colorful painting with an important message.
This colorful lizard is a nice decoration on a shed that is part of Solholmen school. It has been here for some time. It's just that I haven't got the chance to go there before this autumn.
On Instagram Vlekart writes «Nobody is just what meet the eyes». He did the painting in collaboration with the rehab program which resides in this building.
A crying boy painted on a power box. Small, but beautiful. I know Vlekart has more paintings around town. Maybe my next trip into town will take me past some of them.
