This week I am back with some of the newest pieces from Karolinelund in Aalborg. At least they were still new last montch. I noticed these works this autumn when in Aalborg. Karolinlund is one of the hot spots for street art and graffiti in Aalborg. This is a park that functions as a recreational area for the inhabitents. Once it functioned as an amusement park – a tivoli like the type you will still find in Copenghagen. Aalborg Tivoli was closed in 2010. During the last couple of years it has undergone renovation, but artists are still wellcome to decorate the walls within the park and the fence surrounding the park.
The artist behind the fox is Johnny Heft. His fox is «famous». You will see it all over Aalborg, dressed in different costumes. I think I must have seen at least 30 (or maybe more) of this foxes. I don't know the name of the other artists.
This park was the host of the first street art festival - “End of the Line” in Aalborg, the last weekend i August this year. After what I have managed to find out, this festival will be arranged each year from now on. I am allready looking forward to that.
