in StreetArt3 months ago

Hello #CCC'S #streetart community, it's another beautiful week and as such, we looking out for those amazing aesthetic art works that grace our streets, making our surroundings stunning.

Right so for these week I've got some beautiful murals paintings from my previous post here, I'd promise to bring in more of them and also talk about them, major still on aspect of our culture, which is of major significance to us, that's because before the western ways arrives the shores of Africa there exist our ways of life which is still part of us till today, altho basically in the rural areas.

In these post today I will bring up some more of those mural painting sponsored by our state Government, Akwa Ibom state Nigeria, one of the country's southern state, as part of our government effort to add beauty to the state they sponsored these art works here right under the flyover, a complete overhaul of the whole place to make a relaxation spot for seat outs, night life, and maybe some mini event can be hosted here.

Alright so in this mural painting of a local palm wine tapper with his climbing rope, we call it ikpo in our local dialect it is made from the palm tree tried fonts, it's very strong and reliable used to climb the palm tree to tap,

The Palm wine is a sour or sometimes sweetened natural drink extracted from the palm tree, it is common in tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and latin America. It is often used in social and ceremonial occasions or usually sold in joints, bar or hangouts.

The tappers who used the ropes most often to climb the palm tree to the top, cut out a small hole in usually rectangular the stem of the tree about 15cm from the top, tappers then attached a container to catch the sap (a sweet liquid droplet from the palm tree) tappers then attached a container to collect the sap into it, which is now the palm wine it can allowed to ferment a little bit longer, and drank that way or sometimes sweeteners are added to make it sweet a bit, because the longer it stays the more sure taste it gets...

Let's continue our little story, so after the palm wine has been tapped then in another mural painting a man is seen driving the tapped palm wine in a container to his house or to supply it to sellers

In this part of the globe palm wine is our natural drink, very nice and sweet usually used in most occasion, ceremonies or any social gathering even till today.

Another tale, most of us here In the southern part of Nigeria are closer to the sea, riverside so most of our occupation is fishing and sea foods, in this mural painting depicts a fisherman having caught a basket of fishes, coming out of the stream,

Then in another scenerio a very happy fisherman who is so blessed by the gods caught a very big gigantic fish and as seen is so Happy, this particular painting also is captured in one of our currency, that's so because fishing is also one of our major occupation In Nigeria

Then I will end our amazing mural story of our culture, our people and our basic occupation here in this part of the globe, so after these fishermen caught these fishes they take it to their wifes so they take it to the market to sale

As you see in this painting, this lady selling in the market place, with a big smile on her face probably seeing her customers coming to buy from her, sometimes you need to be careful when in the market, cause this women can use sweet and enticing words to to sell to you....

As you can see the works here are still on going, soon enough everything here will be completed
Thanks everyone for your time..
