here. Hopefully, you can join in the fun.Hello street art and graffiti enthusiasts. Happy to be once again entering this contest, CCC's Street Art hosted by @digi-me. If you still have not heard about this, read the contest post
This is the first part of my sharing of the street art or murals I saw painted along the front wall of the headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) along San Pedro Street Extension in my city, Davao City, Philippines. The PNP is one of our government's armed forces tasked to maintain peace and order in the country. They protect the citizens from criminals and lawless elements. In addition, the PNP is also taking an active part in fighting insurgents and rebels, one of which is the CPP or Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed force, the NPA or New People's Army. The CPP is against democracy and is advocating a change to communism which it claims will solve the problem of poverty in the country. The conflict between the CPP and the government has been going on for more than half a century already.
In the photos below we can see an armed confrontation between the NPA and the PNP. The PNP personnel are the ones in fatigue uniforms while the rebels are in green.
Needless to say, this conflict between the PNP and the CPP-NPA has been bloody with thousands of lives lost over the years, not counting the civilians who were caught in the cross-fire. The photo below is the actual painting of the pictures above.
There is a caption written at the bottom of the painting which reads: "CPP-NPA TERORISTA! SALOT NG BAYAN, WAG TULARAN!"
The caption means CPP-NPA TERRORISTS! PLAGUE OF THE COUNTRY, DO NOT FOLLOW!
And that's all for this week. Please stay tuned and follow me as I unravel this street art in the coming weeks. Thank you to our host, @digi-me. Stay safe and may peace descend upon you and all the people of Ukraine. God bless us all!
