Almost childlike and naïve in its style and colours, the artwork adorns many plain buildings across the small city of Ataco.
It was in the early 2000's that tourism took off here, and at that time to "brighten" the place up city council sanctioned and applauded street art was seen as ideal
To me it isn't real, it isn't purist, it isn't special, it's too whimsical and false. Do you get where I am coming from?
The murals appear to be done by a group of multi talented local artisans.

Must have been done for the Dios de la Muerte celebrations in 2019, a date I can see on a couple
A couple of disgruntled local winos, who thought I was snapping them. "hands out for money....
...."Fuck off" seems to be universally understood.
Am I guessing that there are not many, if any FMLN supporting residents in the area, otherwise I think these murals of bits of the usa would be greatly defaced.
Again done by the same artisans
The eagle and the Torogoz, and not a member of the cia anywhere...or where there?

If she says not to turn left, I think we should go that way. 😐
Yup rules are for breaking!
Like the mural with totem pole, reflecting Red Indian decent, most probably wrong name used here, more indigenous descendants to America's.
First facial figures, make no sense unless they paint their faces in like manner for festivals, know little of the regions history.
Nice captures none the less!
!BEER
Cheers Central American countries really enjoy celebrating the dead and death, hence a lot of skulls and skeletons
Each to their own with ancestors, how we remember them is always cultural.
