Insurgent Mural
Today we return to a classic aspect of the city of Caracas, it is about urban art with political and popular characteristics, since the piece shown in this opportunity reflects with total clarity that past of struggle and resistance of a sector of the population that sought to change the status quo, but that was confronted daily with the forces of a government apparatus that resisted failure, which results in pitched battles, where buildings, streets and squares became real battlefields.

El día de hoy volvemos a un aspecto clásico de la ciudad de Caracas, se trata del arte urbano con características políticas y populares, puesto que en la pieza mostrada en esta oportunidad se refleja con total claridad ese pasado de lucha y resistencia de un sector de la población que buscaba cambiar el status quo, pero que se veía enfrentado diariamente a las fuerzas de un aparato gubernamental que se resistía al fracaso, lo cual da como resultado batallas campales, en donde los edificios, las calles y las plazas se convertían en verdaderos campos de batalla.
It is a past marked by class struggle, ideologies and force, in a country like Venezuela this subject is still a source of controversy, there are highly polarised positions and the topic often ends up in heated discussions with sterile results, but the reality is that in many streets and walls in the west of the capital, images are still painted that seek to keep the memory of those turbulent years alive.
Se trata de un pasado marcado por la lucha de clases, las ideologías y la fuerza, en un país como Venezuela este tema sigue siendo motivo de controversia, existen posiciones altamente polarizadas y sobre el tema suelen terminar en discusiones acaloradas con resultados estériles, pero la realidad es que en muchas calles y paredes del oeste de la capital se siguen pintando imágenes que buscan mantener la memoria viva de aquellos años convulsos.
I don't know the author of the work, I can only tell you that it is located in front of the Plaza Bolívar in Block 7 of the Urbanización 23 de Enero, a very busy place, where there is a roundabout whose slopes open up to different areas, therefore, it is an area that is alive and dynamic 24 hours a day, becoming a neuralgic point of the whole urbanisation and little by little it is becoming more and more popular for the rest of the city.
Desconozco el autor de la obra, solo les puedo decir que la misma se encuentra enfrente de la Plaza Bolívar del Bloque 7 de la Urbanización 23 de Enero, un lugar altamente concurrido, en donde se encuentra una de redoma cuyas vertientes se abren a diferentes zonas, por lo tanto, es un área que se mantiene viva y dinámica durante las 24 horas del día, convirtiéndose así en un punto neurálgico de toda esta urbanización y poco a poco se va haciendo cada vez más popular para el resto de la ciudad.
