Hello friends of Street Art! I didn't want to end the year without sharing once again in this interesting community of Hive, and I felt well received with my first publication of the murals of Comuna 13 in Medellin. The photo I share with you today was taken on a trip to the city of Maracay, specifically on Friday January 5, 2024, almost a year ago, but it still echoes in my mind and I have been looking forward to revisit that place. I took the picture with my old Tecno Pova II cell phone.
It is a beautiful mural that is located in the heart of the Zoo in the city of Maracay, a work that was done as a team. Together it is called AltaGama Murals, but it turns out that at least for this work each artist was in charge of giving life to a different animal. Besides the main mural that I am participating with this week, I wanted to share a bit of the murals that adorn the façade of the zoo, where you can see some birds and a deer. These murals are relatively new, as the zoo was closed for a long time and was reopened in 2023, so you can appreciate a little more of the history of the murals and how it was done you can read this link.
I know little of the artists of AltaGama Maracay, but it seems to me that they do an extraordinary job taking their street art to another level, offering it to institutions to leave an attractive legacy that beautifies the city. You can see more of their work on their Instagram, where you will find them as @altagama_murales, for my part I hope to return to the zoo and appreciate other areas I did not visit and even approach other spaces where they have left their art embodied in murals...
