Evora is a medieval town which is still surrounded by walls.
It is a charming little town in the south of Portugal which has a lot of history having been invaded by the Romans and then by the Moors before being taken over by Portugal.
Even though the city retains a fairly classic small town look, you can see street art in a few places.
This murals made on a fence in front of a building under restoration is simply brilliant and its a perfect piece for the CCC's Street Art Contest.
Why settle for mesh or ugly sheer curtains; a pretty mural is much better for concealing work.
I hope other cities will adopt this idea.
Unfortunately I can't read the artist's name; I'm sure this is not his first work nor his last.
It is so different from the other murals seen in town and I hope it was preserved after the work.
Here, a more classic work that we see often is small town; azulejos are present everywhere in Portugal and add a certain cachet to buildings.
Sometimes you really have to have good eyesight and a little luck to see them.
I was quite surprised to see one at the top of a water cistern which also serves as a cell relay.
Still made with the azulejos but more contemporary this time.
