Today I want to share with you some more StreetArt finds in Paris. This time we go to the 13th Arr. /district ~ Paris, France** 🇫🇷 It was wayyyy off the beaten path, but so worth exploring 😉 yep, we walked a lot those days we visited Paris hehehe 🤭
I visited this beautiful city beginning of the month of July 2022. And I just loved the amount of StreetArt I saw all around me… it was just amazing to say the least. 😉 How can I not share that with you all 😎

It states about the artists:
”OKUDA’S DISTINCTIVE STYLE OF GEOMETRIC HARMONIES EMBOLDENED WITH INTENSE COLOURS CAN MAKE HIS ARTWORKS FEEL LIKE THEY’RE FROM A PARALLEL UNIVERSE.
In his work, rainbow geometric architectures blend with organic shapes, bodies without identity, headless animals and symbols that encourage reflection in artistic pieces that could be categorized as Pop Surrealism with a clear essence of street forms. His works often raise questions about existentialism, the universe, the infinite, the meaning of life, and the contradictions of society’s false freedom, showing a conflict between modernity and our roots; ultimately, between man and the same.”

”The 13th Arrondissement of Paris is home to “The New Mona Lisa”, a giant mural painted by Okuda San Miguel, who was commissioned by the district’s residents, in partnership with the By Night Gallery. “The New Mona Lisa” pays homage to Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece in the city of Paris, where it is held. It was also a way of leaving his mark on the French capital, with the interpretation of one of the most famous works in the history of art.”

That is massive! I often wonder when do they get painted? In the middle of the night? I never see any half completed with erected scaffold, or maybe they use a cherry picker and come and go at their leisure.
I know… it was so large… @grindle
You know, these kind of murals. The massive /large ones are done with cherry pickers or window cleaning carts. And they are mostly commissioned works. Either a local business or even the county will be involved.
Here it was a gallery and the neighbourhood. So all was planned and all the permissions are in place. In the last website I linked you see some in progress shots…
They did it in the daylight with a window cleaning cart that is lowered down on the side.
You can not do these large ones illegally. 😎
I know… hahaha being an artist myself. I have some friends that do these large ones. My largest one was just on a 10 meters long wall. A ladder was fine…

That first one is massive! Funny that just yesterday I was watching on tv an interview about those impressive street arts.
Yes, it was so high up. I’m glad I could capture it well enough with my phone. I soooo miss a camera in those moments hehehe 🤭
Cool that you watch a documentary about these kind of large murals.
Some are done with whole teams for advertising @mrprofessordaily There are people that don’t realise they are painted. Mainly film poster kind of adverts.
My largest one I have done so far, was on a 10 meter long wall. Nothing near this biggg hahaha 🤣

I missed them. It's really cool that you are able to paint entire walls. I find it fascinating how artists can look at a blank wall and visualize those huge paintings.
No worries… been a while. Will have to share some more art soon 😁😉 but first holidays on Friday 🤩😎✈️
Love being creative… the only materials that aren’t packed up in boxes for now are some graphite pencils. Will draw some things when back from our trip. 😉🤓
