For CCC's Street Art Contest #149, I would like to share one of the largest murals in Johnson City, TN. It was painted by Steven Teller in the fall of 2022. Steven is a muralist and amazing artist from Florida. He specializes in very large murals which require a lift. I hope you enjoy!
Steven titled this work of art "Traditions of Appalachia" which represents many aspects of the Appalachian Mountains such as Bluegrass music and quilting. He also added some indigenous plants such as Hollyhocks, Irises, Passionflower and Virginia Creeper.

This fantastic mural is located on Commerce Street between W Main and W Market Streets. The building on which the mural is painted houses Main Street Antique Shop and Mountain Roots Hemp Cafe. It is right across the street from the Farmers Market Pavilion in downtown Johnson City. Our little downtown area has seen a lot of renovations. There are many new shops and restaurants to visit as well.
The mural spans several exterior walls of the building. You can see a time lapse of the mural here on Steven's Instagram. He showcases all of his work there and they are some of the most beautiful murals I've ever seen.
Thank you for checking out my post about Steven Teller's artwork in my . He truly is one amazing artist. Peace!
Stunning work with all these details. I really like the mix of geomtric forms and realistic parts. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
Have a great day.
