A Frida Kahlo version

in StreetArt4 years ago

And I don't mean it in a bad way, I mean it in the have you seen the size of this Frida yet?

I mean, I'm not sure it's Frida Kahlo but my money is on her, I saw many pictures and paintings of this famous painter everywhere in Mexico, the girl is some sort of feminist totem down there. Not that I like her, in fact I believe she is an overhyped artist that got way too much attention due to marrying a famous artist and also because of her peculiar aspect.

The eyes and eyebrows are not where they are supposed to be and one can't see them unless you look closely to one of the butterflies flying around.

The flower veil she's got is quite beautifully handled by the artist and her clothes resemble a night storm, which is probably the way Frida lived according to documents I read when I was traveling through Mexico.

The patterns behind, those long snakes? I have no idea what they are, they are great and provide some contrast to the colors of the main image but I don't get the point of making them. Graffities in this side of the globe are supposed to carry traditional and ritualistic messages, or at least those made with that intention (which seems is the intention of this one) but they never have components that don't go along that line.

But who knows, I'm just a street art fan roaming around the world with no other knowledge about art other than that I've accumulated so far during my short years watching art closely while traveling.

I am posting this Mural I found in Central America as part of the contest https://peakd.com/hive-184784/@digi-me/ccc-s-street-art-contest-43-or-100-liquid-payout-as-prize-pool-and-winners-of-42, hopefully you like it!

Beautiful work, very colorful. I like all the flowers, butterfly, birds...

The combinations is amazing and the thing that I love the most in murals is the colors, that's why I've been posting my best pics of colorful murals! Thank you for the comments and encouragement

Great work with all these colors 👍 Thanks for sharing this pic on The StreetArt Community.
