A StreetArt trip along Dordrecht #20: Maasplaza SkatePark 2

in StreetArtlast year

Welcome back for the second entry of the Maasplaza SkatePark, with more great works.

If you want to check out my other post here's the link to it.

So here we go for some more awesome art found at the skatepark.

A lot of pillars, by unknown artists

As there are a lot of pillars, there's a lot of space to paint. Like Doctor Who, gorilla and many more.

Across the wall i showed last week, it this piece done by, what i think, is goxs.

This piece will be my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #169 run by @digi-me over on the #StreetArt community.

If you approach the skatepark, you're welcomed by a lot of shoes and skate-decks hanging from the overpass. Some of them worn and torn by skateboarding, others brandnew,

That's it for this weeks post. Hope you liked it, and see you next friday!

Very cool spot with all this StreetArt. Perfect for skating. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great week

It's defenitly a great spot. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week yourself.

Cool and very interesting art with lots of pillars.
I can't help but notice the footwears that hangs above, why do they do that?

I think they took the idea from american gangs. There they throw shoes over power lines to indicate their gang "territory". But here, i think that the skaters think it looks cool. As for the decks that are up there, those are broken during stunts on that skate park, so they are up there as a memorial. You'll see broken decks around a lot of skate parks in the Netherlands

I see interesting, each country has its ways of expressing its gang way...
I could tell it had to do with expressing something but couldn't make up what it is, thanks for explaining.

A very nice anime character

Yes it is. Check out the insta of senpai, most of his work is in this clean and sharp manga / anime style

Yay! 🤗
