My name is Johsting Mazurek, the youngest of three brothers including me. I am from Venezuela, student of the 2nd semester of Civil Engineering at the Universidad Centro Occidental Lisandro Alvarado better known by its abbreviation acronym "UCLA". A career that at first made me hesitate, because I always saw myself more attracted to architecture than civil engineering due to the artistic expression of the first. But for economic reasons and due to the political situation in which my country is rooted, I had to opt for a career where the institute was located near my campus.

Some of my favorite writers are Shakespeare, Stephen King, Morris West, J. K rouling, Charles Dinkens, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Among many others. My favorite book is "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, since it was the first one I read and the first one that made my head explode. And my favorite book saga is "Harry Potter
And like any young man my age, I am a great lover of the world of video games, for me it is one of the most fun ways to kill time. I've played a lot of Xbox and Playstation consoles. But I knew computers were my thing when I was 5 years old, when I saw my brother playing the first installment of "Age of Empires". Since that day the genre of "strategy games" like age of Empires, starcraft, warcraft, rise of nations, age of Mythology, Civilization and many others, were my thing. Unfortunately I have not been able to enjoy more of them due to lack of time and dedicate myself to other things, plus my PC has a problem of reboots where it shuts down when demanding video memory; Colloquially known as "Blue Screen of Death". My favorite video game is "Hyper light drifter". The game pays homage to 8 and 16 bit games, but with today's artistic techniques.

En primer lugar, me gustaría darles un cordial saludo y las gracias por recibirme en la comunidad de Hive Blogs. Soy nuevo en la plataforma, pero vengo exaltado y emocionado de comenzar a compartir mi contenido con ustedes e irme desarrollando día a día en la plataforma.

Mi nombre es Johsting Mazurek, el menor de tres hermanos incluyéndome. Soy De Venezuela, estudiante del 2do Semestre de Ingeniería Civil en La Universidad Centro occidental Lisandro Alvarado mejor conocida por sus siglas de abreviación “UCLA”. Una carrera que al principio me hizo dudar, pues siempre me vi atraído más hacia la arquitectura que a la ingeniería civil debido a la expresión artística de la primera. Pero por cuestiones económicas y de postura por la situación política en la que se ve arraigado mi país, tuve que optar por una carrera dónde su Instituto se encontrase cerca de mi recinto.I researched about universities near my residence and the careers they offered, but none of them caught my attention and frankly they were not very recognized universities. Until I stumbled upon "UCLA" and among its curriculum was civil engineering. Their institute was two hours away from my residence. And I told myself that if I aspired to a career similar to architecture, civil engineering was the closest thing I could aspire to. So I took an academic attitude test and got a spot. At first I didn't like it, but little by little I started to like it, especially when I learned something new in subjects like physics and geometry, which have always caught my attention. Finally I was attracted to the career and I no longer studied for obligation but for pleasure and more and more I made the career something of my own. Now I aspire to finish it in the shortest time possible, because I will not rest until I hear my name called to the podium to receive the title of "Johsting Mazurek, Civil Engineer".

Investigué sobre universidades cercanas a mi residencia y las carreras que ofrecían, pero ninguna llamaba mi atención y francamente no eran universidades muy reconocidas. Hasta que me tope con la "UCLA" y entre su plan de estudios estaba la ingeniería civil. Su instituto se encontraba a dos horas de mi residencia. Y me dije a mí mismo que si aspiraba a una carrera similar a la arquitectura, la ingeniería civil era lo más cercano a lo que podía aspirar. Así que hice una prueba de actitud académica y conseguí un cupo. Al principio no me gustó, pero poco a poco me fue gustando, sobre todo cuando aprendía algo nuevo en materias como física y la geometría, que siempre me han llamado mi atención. Finalmente me atrajo la carrera y ya no estudiaba por obligación sino por gusto y cada vez más hacia de la carrera algo propio de mi. Ahora aspiro a terminarla en el menor tiempo posible, porque no descansaré hasta que escuche que mi nombre sea llamado al podio para recibir el título de "Johsting Mazurek, Ingeniero Civil".
Suena bien ¿no?
Aparte de mi ocupación académica, he pasado parte de mi tiempo trabajando desde temprana edad. Esto se debe en gran parte, a la crisis política y económica por la que está pasando Venezuela actualmente, debido a que la hiperinflación de la moneda ha ocasionado que los sueldos de un profesional no sean suficientes para la adquisición de artículos de primera necesidad como lo son los alimentos y productos de aseo y limpieza. Así que necesitábamos otra entrada de dinero para poder subsistir y es aquí donde entramos mis hermanos y yo. He trabajado como asesor de ventas en múltiples negocios que van desde papelerías y cibers, a pastelerías y charcuterías, e incluso en un negocio de entretenimiento dónde se alquilaban múltiples mesas de ping pong; siendo este último de los trabajos más divertidos en lo que he estado y dónde descubrí mi fanatismo y gusto hacia el deporte del ping pong.I am a big fan of the world of movies and TV series. And by dedicating so much time to this hobby, I think I can defend myself quite well on the subject. For example, I like to analyze them from the point of view of their direction, script, production design, casting, etc. I like to criticize them and draw my own conclusions about these films. That is why one of the contents that I would like to upload and share with you on the platform, would be the recommendation of films and make reviews of them. Tell you what the plot is about and why you should watch them. I also like Anime, but I'm very selective about it, so I don't consider myself an otaku. I don't have a favorite movie as such, because it would be very hard for me to decide on one among the many movies I've seen. But I could tell you my favorite trilogy of all time: "Back to the future".
Soy un gran fanático del mundo del cine y series de televisión. Y al dedicar tanto tiempo a este hobby, creo que puedo defenderme bastante bien en el tema. Por ejemplo, me gusta analizarlas desde el punto de vista de su dirección, guion, diseño de producción, casting, etc. Me gusta hacer críticas hacia las mismas y sacar mis propias conclusiones sobre estas cintas cinematográficas. Es por esto que uno de los contenidos que me gustaría subir y compartir con vosotros dentro de la plataforma, seria la recomendación de películas y hacer reseñas de las mismas. Comentarles de que va la trama y por qué deberían verlas. También me gusta el Animé, pero soy muy selectivo en el mismo, así que no me considero un otaku. No tengo una película favorita como tal, porque sería muy difícil para mí decidirme por una entre las muchas películas que he visto. Pero si podría decirles mi trilogía favorita de todos los tiempos: "Regreso al futuro"..
Otro de mis pasatiempos, es el arte y lo que expresan. Para mí es fascinante cómo un artista puede capturar en un lienzo, lo que se encontró alojado en las profundidades de sus pensamientos, para luego plasmarlos en cualquier superficie. Lo cual puede llegar a generar cierto impacto de admiración, motivación e inspiración en sus espectadores.This fascination with art led me to want to try it, which led me to become a cartoonist, although I consider it just a hobby. I started at a young age and still practice it when I have free time. Esta fascinación por el arte me llevo a querer intentarlo, lo que me codujo a convertirme en dibujante, aunque lo considero sólo un hobby. Empecé a una edad temprana y todavía lo practico cuando tengo tiempo libre. Es mi pasatiempo favorito, y por lo tanto como he dedicado gran parte de mi tiempo a la ilustración, siendo el surrealismo mi estilo favorito, fue la pasión por el dibujo lo que me motivó a crear un perfil en Hive blogs donde me gustaría compartir con ustedes algunos de los dibujos que iré realizando a lo largo de mi desarrollo y crecimiento en la plataforma, donde quisiera convertir mi perfil en una especie de galería virtual donde mostraría mis dibujos y como los realizo paso a paso hasta llegar al resultado final. Una de las cosas mas importante para mí, es la habilidad de generar generar sonrisas y placer a través de algo que te gusta, y en mi caso sería a través del dibujo. Otro pasatiempo que aprecio mucho es la literatura. Me considero un lector muy activo y a lo largo de los años he sentido una fascinación por los libros. Donde nuevamente es algo mágico para mí como artistas (en este caso un escritor) tiene la capacidad de capturar y liberar historias, en algo tan simple como un lienzo o un pedazo de papel, y que al final con mucha creatividad y originalidad, estas historias cobran vida a través de nuestra imaginación a medida que vamos leyendo. De nuevo, este es otro tipo de contenido que me gustaría subir, donde les recomendaría obras literarias de los primeros y últimos tiempos, les diría de que va la trama y por qué deberían leerlas, aportándoles siempre mi humilde opinión.

Y como cualquier joven de mi edad, soy un gran amante del mundo de los videojuegos, para mí es una de las formas más divertidas de matar el tiempo. He jugado mucho a las consolas Xbox y Playstation. Pero supe que los ordenadores eran lo mío a los 5 años, cuando vi a mi hermano jugar la primera entrega de "Age of Empires". Desde ese día el género de "juegos de estrategia" como age of Empires, starcraft, warcraft, rise of nations, age of Mythology, Civilization y muchos otros, fueron lo mío. Desafortunadamente no he podido disfrutar más de ellos por falta de tiempo y dedicarme a otras cosas, además de que mi Pc presenta un problema de reinicios donde éste se apaga al exigirle memoria de video; Conocido coloquialmente como "Pantalla azul de la muerte". Mi videojuego favorito es "Hyper light drifter". El juego rinde homenaje a los juegos de 8 y 16 bits, pero con las técnicas artísticas actuales.And finally, when the quarantine is over and academic activities resume, in my case university activities. I would like to make a kind of mini-documentary that shows the harsh reality of a student and the hard process involved in receiving a "quality" education in this country. Y por último, cuando la cuarentena termine y se reanuden las actividades académicas, en mi caso las actividades universitarias. Me gustaría hacer una especie de mini-documental que muestre la dura realidad de un estudiante y el duro proceso que implica recibir una educación de "calidad" en este país. Como es la rutina diaria para obtener el derecho a la educación y como en otros países lo que es algo cotidiano y del día a día, aquí en Venezuela se convierte en un reto en incluso en un lujo. Pero a pesar de eso, no nos perdemos y nos mantenemos firmes hasta alcanzar nuestros sueños, incluso con la presencia de las dificultades de un país gobernado por un régimen dictatorial.Those were some of my hobbies and some anecdotes about me, as well as some of my future projects within the platform.
