This is the continuation of the story I shared earlier. After returning from Urd's well and chatting with Loki, I make my way to where the builder is, who awaits my arrival to use the holy water and some blue ink to build a weapon using ancient magic.
After a few scribbles on a monolith and a chant in an unknown language, a green dome appears around us, which, according to the builder, is an anti-invasion protection field.
To test the veracity of his words, I attract some jotnar patrols, which, upon contact with the protection field, exploded into pieces.
The problem arises when, after eliminating several jotnars, the shield becomes unstable, turns red and lets in several patrols. Waiting for the builder to repair the protection shield, I face all the jotnars at the same time. When all seemed lost, the shield turns green again and they all explode into pieces again.
Once the effectiveness of this weapon has been demonstrated, the builder proposes me to make one on a larger scale to protect the whole of Asgard. This proposal seems very interesting, however, because of the condition he proposed. The builder wants Freya's hand in marriage as payment, which is not my decision and I let him know so.
Such a matter was to be discussed with the family and, as I was on my way to meet them, I came across Tyr and Loki exhibiting the wolf I found in the well. The wolf had grown a lot and was in a wooden cage that at times seemed to be too small for him.
Upon meeting with the other members of the family and telling them of the builder's proposal, Freya immediately becomes angry that I did not refuse at the time. Thor proposes to beat the builder and Loki advises to give him a short deadline so that he cannot fulfill his commission. However, without being able to decide what we would do, we hear a roar and screams due to the lion's escape.
Immediately, I start chasing the wolf everywhere until I reach a field of flowers that leads to an abyss. Unable to escape, the wolf confronts me and a fight begins.
After being victorious, I prepare to end the wolf's life, but Loki appears asking me to spare his life, as he is his father. Enraged, I order Tyur to take him away and tell Loki that this will not go unpunished, as there will be punishment for his unnatural actions.
As the wolf represented a danger to everyone, I visited Ivaldi's forge to ask him to build unbreakable chains to bind such a beast. Ivaldi boasts that the chains are useless, for with a single weak link they would break, but that if I could get him the missing materials, he would make me the strongest rope in the world.
Luckily, for me, only two ingredients were missing: cat footsteps and mountain root. The first, as the name suggests, are cat's footprints and it turns out that after chasing one, I found the footprints and the cat itself.
For the second ingredient, I had to head to the highest mountain in Asgard, and as I made my way there, I noticed that the builder had advanced the work a great deal since the last time we saw him. Now Loki's idea didn't seem so good and that was the one we chose.
When I got to the mountain I had to climb to the top to get the root, which surprised me, since the roots are usually close to the ground, but well, that's just Norse mythology. To get there I went through a camp jotnar. After that, I got to the top, got the root from the mountain and enjoyed beautiful views.
But I can't waste time, I have to go back to Ivaldi, lock up the wolf and take care of the builder's business, as he is undoubtedly hiding something. So don't miss my next post to know the continuation of the story, because it will continue.
