Odin's Sacrifice: The Final Chapter of the Asgard Saga.

Hello everyone.

I would like to say that the adventure continues, but the truth is that this will be the last chapter of the saga of the Norse gods. Next time you read me, I will be showing you the continuation of Eivor's adventures in Britain.

Still, let's remember that last time I faced the leader of the Frost Giants because of Loki, who had brought him to the treasure chamber where I was stealing mead. After defeating the giant, I went to the entrance of the source of Mímir, northeast of the kingdom of Jotunheim. There I meet again the treacherous member of the family.

In that same place we faced each other and, after a short but very dynamic battle, I came out victorious. Being a combat of speed, reflexes and speed, I did not have the opportunity to take pictures. And it's not that I didn't want to, but the game itself prevented me from entering photography mode.

Loki escaped turned into a fish, and with no chance of chasing him, I head inside the cave where the fountain is located.

Inside I find Hyrrokin holding an orb and Mímir. Well, as such it was only his head, since he lost his body a long time ago. After delivering some of the mead to Hyrrokin, Mímir informs me that in order to obtain a higher power I had to make a blood sacrifice to the source.

Without hesitation, I pluck out my eye and crush it so that my blood mixes with the waters of the fountain. Then, I fill my mead container with the water from the fountain and thus obtain a concoction that, according to my companions, will allow me to gain incredible strength and revive even after death.

After the events in Jotunheim, I returned to Asgard and, right at the entrance of the portals, I met Ivalde. The dwarf had come to give me the unbreakable rope. Immediately, I set course for the island of Invgi, west of Asgard, to meet Tyr, who was holding captive the wolf Fenrir, son of Loki.

After talking to Tyr, I head with him towards the entrance of the den where the wolf sleeps to convince him that the rope is just a way to keep him located.

To make the ruse more convincing, Tyr places his arm in Fenrir's mouth, saying that if the rope hurts him, Fenrir can keep his hand.

Unfortunately, the lasso was a tool of subjugation and, feeling the pain, the huge wolf rips off Tyr's arm and throws him to the side. After a huge leap, a confrontation between Tyr and Odin begins, which could well be the beginning of the dreaded Ragnarok.

Without wanting to give spoilers, I will summarize what the combat is about. As a weak point, we will only have our legs. Fenrir is able to bury himself in the ground, throw rocks and take a flint to use it as a club. Of all these mechanics, the most problematic is burying himself in the ground, as it is a bit difficult to dodge at first and you can end up in the animal's mouth.

What should be taken advantage of are the opportunities to tighten the noose further, as this will gradually lead to the wolf being completely immobilized.

After the fight, a series of images will be shown in which you can see that all the members of the family drank the magic mead, thus guaranteeing their future reincarnation. Everything can also be seen in flames, showing that Ragnarök is inevitable and everyone will have to face it.

14.png

In the end, the images were future visions showing how everything would end. Just as this story arc that allowed me to live as Odin, father and leader of the Asgardian gods, ends. So now I bid farewell to Asgard and its inhabitants, right in the place where it all began.
