Learn the story of God of War 3 in a summary

Created: inshot

A few days ago while enjoying one of my favorite adventures in the world of video games, I immersed myself once again in God of War III This title, which has left an indelible mark on my childhood, inspired me to capture key moments from the game to create a short summary of its fascinating story. Since I was a child I have been an admirer of Kratos battles and his fight against the gods of Olympus. Through this compilation I hope to relive those memorable moments and share the experience that has captivated so many people over the years

Kratos continues his ascent, slaying powerful enemies such as the Titan Perses and the god Helios, plunging Greece into eternal darkness in the process. This leads to an encounter with Hermes, who taunts Kratos for his past sins. Kratos pursues Hermes until he reaches the Chamber of Flame, where he discovers that Pandora's Box is located within the Flame of Olympus, which Athena claims only Pandora can quell. Kratos continues to pursue the overconfident Hermes, whom he traps and kills, unleashing a plague upon Greece.

In the Forum, he has an audience with the drunken Hera, who ignores his request for Pandora's location and summons Hercules. After discussing his jealousy of his half-brother, Hercules attacks Kratos but is killed. Kratos then encounters Aphrodite, who is indifferent to his war on Olympus. She takes him back to her estranged husband, Hephaestus, through the Hyperion Gate. The blacksmith sends Kratos to Tartarus to retrieve the Omphalos Stone, claiming he will forge a new weapon for the Spartan, though he secretly planned to kill him.

Kratos confronts Cronus, kills the Titan for the stone, and returns to Hephaestus. After forging the weapon, the god attempts to kill Kratos himself; however, the Spartan kills Hephaestus in self-defense. Before dying, Hephaestus claims he was trying to protect his daughter Pandora, who was imprisoned in the Labyrinth after Kratos opened her box, and begs Kratos to forgive her.

Reusing the Hyperion Gate, Kratos travels through the Gardens of Hera, where he kills Hera for disrespecting Pandora, wiping out all Greek plant life, before heading to the Labyrinth.

The imprisoned architect, Daedalus, tells Kratos to unite the Labyrinth. Completing this task, Kratos makes his way through the aerial puzzle and rescues Pandora. Neutralizing the Judges and breaking the Chain of Balance, Kratos lifts the Labyrinth, and Pandora attempts to enter the Flame. Zeus intervenes and battles Kratos, but Pandora sacrifices herself despite Kratos's reluctance.

Finding Pandora's Box empty, Kratos attacks Zeus. However, having survived her apparent demise, Gaia returns and attempts to kill them both, but they escape through her body and continue their battle inside her chest. Kratos impales Zeus against his heart, killing Gaia and seemingly Zeus. Believing he is finished, Kratos is attacked by Zeus's spirit, who takes his weapons and powers. Before Zeus can finish him off, Kratos is saved by a vision of Pandora during a journey into her psyche. With the help of the spirits of Calliope and his wife Lysandra, Kratos forgives himself before regaining consciousness, regaining his godly powers along with the power of Hope, forcing Zeus's spirit to return to his body; Kratos beats him to death. His revenge complete, Kratos surveys the apocalyptic Greek landscape, the result of having killed Zeus and the Greek Pantheon.

Athena reappears and demands that Kratos return what she believes he took from Pandora's Box. When Kratos tells her it was empty, she refuses to believe him and explains that when Zeus sealed the evils of the world in the box, he also placed the power of hope within it, foreseeing that it would eventually open. Athena realizes that when Kratos opened the box to defeat Ares, the evils escaped and slowly corrupted the gods while Kratos was imbued with hope, which had been hidden because of him. She demands that Kratos return her power, but he refuses and seemingly commits suicide so humanity can have it. Athena leaves empty-handed, as Kratos collapses into a mural of a Phoenix.

In a post-credits scene, a trail of blood is seen leading away from the abandoned Blade of Olympus, implying Kratos's survival but leaving his whereabouts unknown.
