While exploring the northern part of Honmoku, I came across an NPC wearing a straw outfit being attacked by three enemy patrol dogs. Without wasting time, I ran towards them, and the three dogs immediately turned their attention to me. If you noticed, I was wearing a straw helmet and a blue enemy naval uniform that I got from defeating an enemy dressed like that. The helmet has a great drop rate bonus while the uniform has the highest defense.
I started dodging their attacks and managed to parry the dogs, which was the hardest part. I love the combat action, especially when the screen freezes for a screenshot—it feels like reading a Chinese martial arts comic with all the blood effects and sword movements. Eventually, I defeated all three patrol dogs. I went back to the NPC, and he gave me a Wandering Samurai's Kimono as a reward. Finally, an armor that matches my straw helmet! Although it has a lower defense, I chose the look!
Afterward, I continued my journey up a hill, enjoying the beautiful view of Honmoku. Along the way, I gathered some resources scattered around and found a unique shelter that I thought was perfect for a photo. I wish there were more side quests in this area to level up faster so I could take on stronger enemies. I’ve lost a few battles against tougher enemies before, so the desire to level up and redeem myself is strong, especially with the karma system. If I defeat enemies that previously beat me, I earn karma points.
Moving on, I came across a place where I saw an NPC lying lifeless on the road, with rats creeping closer, what a unique sight. From a distance, I spotted some enemies guarding what seemed to be the entrance to an important city. I sprinted towards the first enemy and stabbed him before he could react. The second enemy tried to fight back but didn’t last long. Then, two stronger enemies emerged from the largest house in the small village.
These two were tougher, especially one wielding a huge sword that created an amazing ground-slam effect. I got hit a few times, but thankfully I had medicine to heal. After a hard fight, both enemies fell, and I got some cool loot, including the big sword and their armor.
Exploring the village further, I noticed more lifeless NPCs who seemed to be the original villagers. I climbed towers, jumped across rooftops, and discovered a few hidden spots. I tried crossing the large gated wall but failed—it was locked. Sadly, the hook I was hoping to use freely isn’t as versatile as I thought when I bought the game. It only works on specific hooks provided in the game. If I could use it anywhere, it would be so much more fun.
It looks like the gate will remain closed until I figure out how to unlock it—or maybe it’s just permanently shut; I’m not sure. For now, I continued my journey, enjoying Honmoku’s beautiful scenery. The lush grass and giant trees are quite a sight, though I still wish I could use the hook to climb trees. Unfortunately, that’s not possible either.

In this game the blood particles are more visible than in the previous game.
