What I am surprise to learn after reading Kin and parent Kik is that we are still having something very similar in 2020/2021. The app TicTok although not crypto related its a very popular app in US and the US government is trying to force China to give it up due to concerns about national security. Where is the competitive nature of the US? Thought it would be able to make an app that could beat out Kik or TicTok instead of trying to block out the competition. Just not sure about the security issues, maybe valid?
Well, China could have backdoors written deep into the closed sourced software. Which could open a can of worms for all kinds of attack vectors. It only matters when the scale and scope of things achieves a certain size and power. It's a new form of cold war for the 2020s.
