Recently My father got me a new laptop, The lenevo Ideapad Gaming 3. And I have been using this for the recent week and wanted to share with you the pros and cons of it and how better it is than my older one.
First off, the display is just amazing. This display is a 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 144Hz sampling rate, It feels really smooth. My older one was a 60Hz and 120Hz feels on a whole new level. Even in daily tasks its something I would definitely prefer over the 60Hz. This display can reach a peak brightness of 250 nits, Same as my older one. Colors in the display are also really good when used at full brightness, But since I do care about my eyes, My brightless level is set around 50.
Secondly, The processor, My older one had a i7-5600U with 2 cores and 4 threads, It was good for browsing or multitasking some programs but it definitely couldn't handle any games or any CPU heavy tasks. The one I use right now has a AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with 6 cores and 12 threads. This also has a turbo boost clock of 4.2Ghz which is insanely fast. This can handle basically anything. Even while having 3 games in the background the CPU was only being used at 70% and temperatures never above 70 Degrees.
RAM, as always is, the more the better. I chose 16 GB of DDR4 3200Mhz, My old one had 16 gb of DDR3 1600Mhz, While both of the laptops had 16 GB, DDR4 3200Mhz performed way better because of its higher speed. These days DDR5 has come around but very less processors support it, and its crazy expensive.
For storage I had, 256 GB M.2 and 1 TB HDD, for any small programs I store it on my M.2 drive and for larger programs/Files I store them on the HDD.
The keyboard is just excellent, the sound, the typing feel, overall a 10/10.
For the graphics I have a GTX 1650 (Mobile version), It has 4 GB of gddr5 memory. Can handle pretty much anything I do. Can also run demanding games at high settings at 60 FPS. Overall a great choice, At this price range I could've gotten a RTC 3050, But these both are basically the same with the RTX 3050 having the upper hand by having tensor cores inside it, Which help in ray tracing. Something of which I wont make much use of.
That's all about the laptop, Let's talk about other stuff I use.
I use a Logitech G402 Hyperion for my Mouse. It works great. I purchased it 4 years ago and still works like a charm. The internet says it has a lifespan of 10 years. But whenever its lifespan runs out, I'm sure that I will be buying the same one. Its just the perfect match for me. I also use a Redgear mousepad (Small version) Which also works wonders.
For Headphones and Earphones I decided to buy from Boat, and they have not disappointed me at all, I got the boat bassheads 100 for my earphones and the Boat rockerz 510 for my headphones. Both have great sound quality.
Recently Boat announced the Boat rockerz 660, And I'm planning to get my hands on it if I can. I'd better starting saving up for it.
That's all the tech I use with my laptop. These all are very good options and work wonders for me. Big thanks to my Dad who bought me all of these. Hopefully you found this post interesting!
This is definitely doing better than our Dell .
