My sister once asked me, "Brother, if you were asked to choose a superpower, which would you go for? Without hesitation, I answered, "Time control". Most times when I watch these superhero movies, I wish they were real and I could have mine too. If I were to possess super power, I would love to have the power to control time. I would love to go back to the past and see how the world was when science and technology had not advanced to this present level.

Science has advanced to a level that it's almost getting out of control. Some of the recent outputs of scientific experiments are against most religions and individuals, and societal morals. That's why I would always say that science is a good and bad "guy" of this era.
To tell us the good parts of science and its negative sides, I would apply my mom's strategy, acknowledgment first before criticism.
Science has helped human life in many ways from health which is very important, to transportation, business, communication and others. I would love to talk more about medicine and science due to its essentiality for life. In ancient times, early men believed sickness was caused by the wrath of gods, evil spirits and the influence of stars and moon. But as time flew, and civilization raged through the ages, science took turns of most of these beliefs. From what I was taught on the history of medicine, this medical historian, Dubos stated that "ancient medicine was the mother of sciences", meaning that science took its roots at the point when the early men sought ways to relieve the young ones of their pains. Since then, science has always been focused on how to improve life and solve complex problems in an easier pattern. But since it seems like all the essential needs of man for survival have been solved(which is not), scientists have begun to carry out crazy experiments that will produce results not acceptable to many.

To hit the nail on the head, Gender-Affirming Surgery is one of the outcomes of scientific experiments that against many morals. In my belief, this is not supported and not only in mine, other beliefs stand against this work of science. People that undergo this surgery are called transgenders. Gender-affirming surgery is by choice and I can't speak against another's choice, but the point I'm trying to make is that this is one of the aspects of science that goes against many individuals' morals. One surgically changing his gender is a step toward supporting same-sex marriage which also goes against many morals.

I would also love to talk about the invention of nuclear weapons. This rightly answers the question in the prompt for the day. When I got to find out about the potentiality of nuclear weapons such as nuclear bombs, missiles and many more, I felt like I had to use my desired superpower to rewind time and stop the scientists who did the experiments for this invention. Every good moral can never support killings but science advancement has gone too far for the development of several deadly war weapons.
Source
If all the nuclear weapons present in different countries of the world are fired at the Earth's surface, I believe there would only be seven (7) planets left, earth would disappear just like Pluto. These nuclear weapons are also beneficial in some sense. Countries that have nuclear weapons are respected by others and these countries can collaborate to bring peace to other warring countries.
Using my country as an example, my country doesn't have nuclear weapons and because of that we wouldn't want to wage war with a country such as the US or China.
Science is a good and bad "guy". I would always believe that and I guess you too will concur with me after checking out my points made above.
Thanks for reading my post.
This is my participation for the #juneinleo daily prompts of the day, day #09.

As a scientist, I appreciate your thoughts very much. However, I strongly (but respectfully) disagree with many of your points. Please, let me elaborate:
You write: "Some of the recent outputs of scientific experiments are against most religions and individuals, and societal morals". Wikipedia defines science as follows: "Science is a rigorous, systematic endeavor that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the world". There is much more to it, but for the sake of simplicity I would like to stick with this definition for now. Science itself doesn't have a moral compass, as it's all about cold hard facts. Natural phenomena, such as gravity, exist, whether your religion agrees or not. Science itself doesn't care about religion.
You might have heard about Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer, who didn't believe that planet earth is the center of the universe. For the defense of this fact, he faced massive resistance from the "holy" Inquisition and was condemned as being "vehemently suspect of heresy".
You write: "Since then, science has always been focused on how to improve life and solve complex problems in an easier pattern". That's also not true. Science itself really doesn't care about improving lives. Science is all about searching for the truth. Of course, you are right to describe that many useful and helpful things have emerged from the application of scientific principles. However, these are mere applications and technologies and not part of the scientific endeavor to understand how nature really behaves.
You write: "scientists have begun to carry out crazy experiments that will produce results not acceptable to many". What kind of experiments are we talking about here?
You write: "To hit the nail on the head, Gender-Affirming Surgery (GAS) is one of the outcomes of scientific experiments that against many morals". GAS is a surgical procedure. Nothing more and nothing less. It's not a scientific technique. Yes, it does rely on the use of medical tools, but so does the removal of a tooth or the appendix. 🤷♂
You write: "One surgically changing his gender is a step toward supporting same-sex marriage which also goes against many morals". You are mixing science, religion and morals. These are completely different things. It's your right to be again GAS or same-sex marriages. I'm in favor of both, for the record. However, our disagreements entirely stem from our different political or moral opinions. Science doesn't have anything to do with this.
You write: "I felt like I had to use my desired superpower to rewind time and stop the scientists who did the experiments for this invention". Without the science behind the nuclear bombs, we also wouldn't have nuclear power plants today. While I would consider such a scenario to be a good one, others might disagree. Here, once again, you have to be careful not to mix the science itself and its possible applications.
Great, I feel delighted to me a scientist as you who have disagreed with some of my points. I love your approach, very nice @lukasbrausch.
We learn everyday though. Science religion doesn't care about religion and that's why most of results of scientific experiments goes against religious beliefs. Science believes man arise from ancestral primates but most religions believe that God created man. This accurately concurs with your point, "Science itself doesn't care about religion".
I really feel honored having you to check on my post and leaving a comment that has made me learn more about science and religion.
Galileo Galilei is a great scientist, I have read more about him.
Thanks for checking up on my post, I get your points and I see a solid sense in it.
I'm always available for a civilized discussion about basically every topic. I'm always happy to find intelligent people I disagree with, as those are usually the ones I can learn something from. 😊
So, let's get to it: You wrote: "Science religion doesn't care about religion and that's why most of results of scientific experiments goes against religious beliefs". Once again, I wouldn't agree. Science isn't actively aiming to disprove religions. It's simply searching for the truth. If a scientific theory contradicts a certain religious belief, there is no way to solve this contradiction, as those two systems are not based on the same assumptions. Science is based on cold hard facts and theories that can be proven or falsified. Religion is based on beliefs held by people.
That being said, science and religion aren't two sides of the same coin. Sometimes, they can even agree, even though such an agreement is rather rare. 😉 For instance, the Austrian mathematician Gödel once made an attempt to prove the existence of god. Some would say he once and for all proved god's existence, while others (including me) would still disagree with the assumptions used for this "proof".
Wowww
I once heard about Gödel but didn't carry out more research about the great scientist. I will do that and get back to you friend.
Beginning to love a talk with you😎😎😎.
Time control is also my go-to superpower anytime I'm asked to pick 😁 for me it's the best superpower out there and a very powerful ability, but it does has its side effects.
Humans are the only species that create things that will eventually end us and destroy the world. I wonder why all these super countries still keep nuclear weapons when they know that if everyone suddenly start throwing bombs at each other, it basically marks the end of the world
We share that similarity, hehe.
That's the point, humans through science can even destroy the earth no one created. I wish scientists could also create a new planet as earth.
You did well with this prompt. Science and man a great combo
Thanks man.
I feel so honored having you to check on my post and left a comment.
The transgender of a things is totally unethical yet I wonder why people embrace such what even animals will not dare to do.
That's it.
Different individuals have different ways of life and pattern of make choices.
Thanks for checking up on my post. I really appreciate.
False. You don't have to undergo any surgery to be transgender.
Let me surprise you - there can be same-sex marriages without any surgery. And you know what? It is perfectly fine. Why should somebody's rigged "moral" standards forbid other people's happiness?
Oh yes, the nuclear war on Pluto was truly a bad one - it is sad how it disappeard!
Thanks for the corrections I won't argue.
I already had them from someone else but I feel great having to learn from my mistakes and wrong assumptions.
Thanks for the comment and have a great day.
