Living Greek and LPUD [Eng/Esp]

in Humanitas3 months ago (edited)

I've been reading the Robert Langdon series by Dan Brown, this series shows us the adventures of Robert Langdon a Harvard symbolism professor. He covers ancient mysteries, secret societies and even the beginning of humanity in gis adventures.
All in all, it's a wonder series and I truly recommend.
One may wonder what Robert Langdon and Dan Brown has to do with anything I'm talking about here.
Well, it's just the fact that reading the adventures of Robert Langdon made me realize just how much our modern world is influenced by what we once thought were relics or legends of the past.

Just a few ways these legends happen to stay alive within us for generations to come due to their sheer tenacity, fame and people's belief in them.

One particularly popular form of mythology is that of the Greek.
Zeus, Apollo, Poseidon and other gods of Olympus has grown in their stories, popularity and influence in decades and now, there's hardly any child who can read who hasn't heard of Zeus or any other of the olympians.

The influence of Greek mythology has touched so many sectors of modern culture.
There's at first the literature and arts sector which includes the ever famous Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson Books.

Although Percy Jackson is one of the most well known Greek mythology oriented books, it's not the only greek mythology book.
There are novels like Shakespeare's Midsummer Night Dream, Keith's Endymion and Ode to a Grecian Urn.

Then in the movies and entertainment sector we have Cinematic Gold like Clash of The Titans, Hercules, Troy, Olympus has fallen, etc.

Now I'm sure those are the influences you do know. Now let's go to the one's that are rather disguised.

  • Music

It is known that some music and scores have that Greek mythological touch. Some highly influenced and others the artist decides to name them to relate with greek mythology.
Examples of these are; Opera: La Mozart la Fintre Semplice Strauss Ariadne auf Naxos. Led Zeppelin's Achilles Last Stand and Helen of Troy.

Wait... There's even more!!

The Greek effect has gone even as far as the business and branding company's with huge brands that's being worn by almost everyone.
For example how the Brand Nike is named after the Greek goddess of Victory. Adidas's three stripes represent the three olympic peaks, Amazon and the the goddess of the hunt and even Oracle Corporation that was based off Delph's Oracle.

In conclusion, greek mythology is literally everywhere we see. It's influence rubs far and wide, making modern culture as diverse and unique as it is now.

I know I've missed it for two months and it's showing 16 on my date.

ESPANOL

There are novels like Shakespeare's Midsummer Night Dream, Keith's Endymion and Ode to a Grecian Urn.

Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare, the super famous novelist, right?

By Keith's Endymion, you probably mean John Keats's Endymion - yet another novelist.

Speaking about music, this opera must be totally breathtaking: "La Mozart la Fintre Semplice Strauss Ariadne auf Naxos".

The other one too, Led Zeppelin was an outstanding composer and his opera Achilles Last Stand must be a huge thing!

Indeed. I knew about the greek mythology involvement in literature movies and even about nike and adidas. But finding it in music was surprising.

I don't listen to contemporary and opera much but I did give Led Zeppelin Achilles last stand a hear. It was quite awesome 😂🔥✨

Okey, the thing is: what you call novels are not novels. What you call operas are:

  • two composers and two operas blended into one other title
  • not an opera

If I may suggest, writing about things you don’t relate to is not the way to build up your audience.
