Hi everyone!
Now for something a little different, I like to edit the images I take to the point where the colours natural, as it was in real life whilst slightly tweaking the sharpness and contrast to enhance details.
I have seen a lot of professional editors over saturating images. Why is this? Is it solely based on what the client wants/ individual style?

The last image turned out kind of okay but in general, the style is just so unnatural to me.
Each to their own I guess!

I think a little enhancement makes photos pop, and it shows that you made an effort. However, I don't like when photos become so unrealistic that they lose their atmospheric feel. For all these that you've labelled oversaturated, except for the first one where the detail is lost in the clouds; I'd say you hit just the right spot before ruining the photos. They are still passable to me 😁
Interesting, thanks. I definitely need to learn more about different tools in PS/ Lightroom!

Definitely a lot of personal preference I'd say. Both on editing and viewing. On my drone pics, I normally use an ND filter while shooting and generally don't touch them in post. Sometimes I will do just a bit of brightness/contrast on them, or maybe even dodge/burn specific hotspots if it helps "naturalize" the shot. I haven't played with the HDR shots yet that some folks have talked about, but it looks and sounds interesting.
I definitely don't like over-corrected or fake looking shots.
Sometimes it's even based on the theme which I quite like but people even go for an 'artsy' or slightly cartoonish style which doesn't work for me.
I only use filters for video, for photos I prefer to stack and enhance at home.
I'll give dodge and burn a go, thanks!
Thanks so much for yur visit
