RE: Sunset & Windmills: A 5-Minute Drone Magic Session

Pretty sure you will enjoy it !INDEED :-)
I've never used CodeBlocks to be honest... I did use Eclipse for a long (and happy) time, but it became too heavy to run, too slow to boot and to work with. Then I switched to Jetbrains IDE's, mostly PHPStorm. They are good, really good. And I had the paying pro version, which was totally good! But then came the issue of working with more languages, and not always being in a strictly developer role anymore, or being forced to work with the customer's preferred IDE.
That's when I switched to CodeAnywhere. That's an online cloud development IDE that supports many different languages, and has a ton of useful features for me (adding SSH access to your own server etcetera). It allows me access to my own stuff, everywhere I want, as long as I have a browserwindow...
They even used to have a mobile app, but that got discontinued :-) Unfortunately, because for the quick bugfix it could still come in pretty handy! But I think their webapp is now also very mobile-friendly.

That's very good to hear! It definitely seems quite full-featured, and a tad complex! I still have to settle on one good IDE, and make the time to first learn it, and then the languages that I intend to learn. I !INDEED really appreciate you sharing your experiences with these various IDEs! I still haven't started on my core-language learning yet, which is bothering me a bit, but I'll do my best with the time that I have to explore. Some version of a web app might be a good choice, especially if I'm able to use it both on my computer and my phone. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

True, choosing a good IDE is half of the battle! On the other hand, depending on what and how, I even sometimes use Vi :-D And if only those over-superfluous apps are available, I’d rather default to something like Notepad++ or something alike. The most important thing for me is syntax highlighting, as it often helps in debugging. All those “automatic syntax completion” and stuff mostly makes you forget about the correct syntax anyway ;-)

Yes, I'm seeing that! Light and simple can be great! Yes, apps like gedit in Linux have syntax highlighting too, which I find super helpful for scripting work. I may start looking at online versions. I also need to find good, free training courses for Java and Python. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Gedit is !INDEED one that I used very regularly on Linux! Loved it!
With regards to training courses… Not really an idea actually, but you should be able to find some. Maybe try ChatGPT?

LOLOLOL!!! Yep, @borniet, I am now certain that your cloning experiment years ago was indeed successful! Hrmmmm...I've so far never even tried ChatGPT...lol! Perhaps I shall, as I'm sure the it could search a lot more thoroughly than I could! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I must admit that I love ChatGPT, and use it quite often, for a lot of things, like in the past week, I’ve literally saved days of work by letting ChatGPT transcribe screenshots of different database layouts and comparing them. If not for that, I would have to manually compare each field between three different systems.

I definitely understand why you appreciate it so much. I fiddled with it for a short time yesterday, to find good resources to learn Java and Python for free. It does seem to massively speed things up a bit! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
