Hola amigos del #TBT no estoy segura acerca de si yo ya había compartido estas fotos con ustedes o no, pero las encontré ayer mientras revisaba mi facebook y me parecieron tan bonitas que no dudé en traerlas. Estas fotos son de cuando fui de visita con mis hijas a la iglesia Candelaria aquí en Valencia (en Venezuela) ese día estábamos haciendo algunas diligencias y pasamos cerca, vimos que el templo estaba abierto y quisimos visitarlo. Para nosotras es importante porque mi esposo siempre nos cuenta historias que a su vez le contaba a él el campanero de esta iglesia, un viejito muy simpático que se reunía con todos los niños que asistían al catecismo en esa época (entre los cuales estaba mi esposo) y así les contaba datos sobre la iglesia, los tiempos de la guerra federal e incluso anécdotas personales. Fue así como yo supe que esta iglesia había sido construida por españoles canarios.
We did not want to miss the opportunity to visit it because I must confess that I had never been inside. I found it a beautiful place full of peace and I am surprised to know that it is still the same as in those times, since my husband says that they have only changed the colors of the facade but everything else remains exactly the same, and that is important, that they do not make big changes and keep as much as possible an architectural and religious heritage as is this temple.
No quisimos perder la oportunidad de visitarlo porque debo confesar que yo nunca había entrado. Me pareció un hermoso lugar lleno de paz y me sorprende saber que sigue igual a esos tiempos, ya que mi esposo dice que solo le han cambiado los colores de la fachada pero todo lo demás sigue exactamente igual , y eso es importante, que no hagan grandes cambios y mantengan en la medida de lo posible un patrimonio arquitectónico y religioso como lo es este templo.
Inside it is modest (compared to the cathedral of Valencia that I have already shown you in other publications) but it is equally beautiful, there is an air of tranquility, peace and blessing. My husband tells me that some years ago he read in the newspaper that the roof suffered some damage due to lack of maintenance, but thanks to the community that was organized, they were able to make the proper repairs, even at some point in the past they donated a beautiful statue in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Por dentro es modesto (en comparación con la catedral de Valencia que ya les he mostrado a ustedes en otras publicaciones) pero es igualmente bello, se respira un aire de tranquilidad, paz y bendición. Mi esposo me cuenta que hace algunos años leyó en el periódico que el techo sufrió algunos daños por falta de mantenimiento, pero gracias a la comunidad que se organizó, pudieron hacer las debidas reparaciones, incluso en algún momento en el pasado donaron una hermosa estatua en honor al sagrado corazón de Jesús. .
We were enchanted with this precise church that is an important part of our city and that is one of the protagonists of religious tourism during Holy Week.
Quedamos encantadas con esta precisa iglesia que es parte importante de nuestra ciudad y que es una de las protagonistas del turismo religioso en la época de Semana Santa.

Hi #TBT friends I'm not sure if I had already shared these photos with you or not, but I found them yesterday while I was checking my facebook and I thought they were so beautiful that I didn't hesitate to bring them. These pictures are from when I went to visit with my daughters to Candelaria church here in Valencia (in Venezuela) that day we were doing some errands and we passed by, we saw that the church was open and we wanted to visit it. For us it is important because my husband always tells us stories that the bell ringer of this church used to tell him, a very nice old man who used to meet with all the children who attended catechism at that time (among whom was my husband) and so he would tell them about the church, the times of the federal war and even personal anecdotes. That is how I learned that this church had been built by Canarian Spaniards.Las fotografías de este post son de mi propiedad.
