The photos I am going to share with you are from a time that fills me with great emotion, because it was when we had already finished with the remodeling of our bathroom, but still I was always looking for some elements that would help me to give the last details for the decoration, although they were also very functional elements, more than decorative, I went into every home products store I could find and immediately looked for something that could be useful, but something was always missing. Suddenly I went into El Tijerazo (a department store that has several branches in Venezuela) and there I got a couple of towel holders and a beautiful curtain for the bathroom.
Las fotos que voy a compartir con ustedes son de una época que me llena de mucha emoción, pues era cuando ya habíamos culminado con las obras de remodelación de nuestro baño, pero aún así yo siempre andaba buscando algunos elementos que me ayudaran a dar los último detalles para la decoración, aunque también eran elemento muy funcionales, más que decorativos, yo me metía en cada tienda de productos del hogar que conseguía y enseguida buscaba algo que pudiera servirme, pero siempre faltaba algo. De pronto entré en la tienda El Tijerazo (es una tienda por departamentos que tiene varias sucursales en Venezuela) y allí conseguí un par de soportes para las toallas y una bellísima cortina para el baño.
I bought a special glue and I dedicated myself to glue the supports, I really liked the result, it looked very, very nice at the time and I felt very proud, but I must confess that over time (I think it had only been a couple of months) the glue did not resist and the supports collapsed, so eventually I had to do something I did not want to do, drill the tiles to put screws, it is something infallible.
Yo compré un pegamento especial y me dediqué a pegar los soportes, de verdad que me gustó mucho el resultado, se veía muy pero muy bonito en ese momento y yo me sentía muy orgullosa, pero debo confesar que con el paso del tiempo (creo que solo habían transcurrido un par de meses) el pegamento no resistió y los soportes se derrumbaron, así que eventualmente tuve que hacer algo que no quería, perforar las baldosas para meter tornillos, es algo infalible.
Something that keeps me proud to this day is this toilet paper holder that I made with my own hands, today, after about ten months it is still standing, it looked and still looks very nice, but what gave me an extra touch of satisfaction was that I created it myself, because I really love to do handicrafts, it is one of my favorite hobbies.
Algo que sí me mantiene orgullosa hasta el día de hoy es este porta papel sanitario que yo hice con mis propias manos, hoy en día, después de aproximadamente diez meses aún sigue en pie, se veía y se ve aún muy bonito, pero lo que me daba un toque extra de satisfacción fue haberlo creado yo misma, porque de verdad me gusta muchísimo hacer trabajos de manualidades, es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos.
I loved that curtain as soon as I saw it in the store and couldn't wait to see it in place, so I got to work installing it.
Yo amé esa cortina en cuanto la vi en la tienda y ya no podía esperar a verla puesta, así me puse manos a la obra para instalarla.
I was really excited because these were the last steps to see the bathroom finally decorated and it looked just as I had dreamed it would..
De verdad yo estaba muy emocionada porque estos eran los últimos pasos para ver el baño finalmente decorado, y se veía tal como yo lo había soñado.
And this was the final result. I think my joy and satisfaction showed on my face. It took months of planning and hard work to restore the bathroom, so I was happy to give it the final touches of decoration myself.
Y este fue el resultado final, creo que en la cara se notaba mi alegría y satisfacción, fueron meses de planificación y de trabajo arduo para lograr restaurar el baño, así que me sentí contenta de darle yo misma los últimos detalles de decoración.

Making our homes beautiful is a pleasant and rewarding feeling, I'm glad you remember it fondly and share it with pride, because that's the way it should be. I don't like to shop at certain popular stores, precisely because those glues don't hold much, so it was a very wise choice to change it all later and a learning that remains for the future.
