The Peña de Vocal Adalias is one of the cultural spaces in the city that thanks to its constancy is gaining more and more followers. The first installment of this year I couldn't miss it, so I was at the Dranguet House from early, waiting for the show to start.
There I met my friend Tania Dranguet and we quickly sat down together. Soon, the Adalias came on the scene.
I really like this vocal group, maybe because of the very magic that they have and that they transmit. As the Jazz Plaza Festival was about to start soon, they dedicated that session to previewing the songs they would be premiering. They also performed Cuban music repertoire, which is one of their labels.
While drinking a zapote juice, I continued to enjoy the music until the last minute. A special guest was the poet Ericka Castellanos, and I confess that I loved her speech. In addition to an interview with her, she read two poems that I really like, one from her book of poems and the other by José Martí (my favorite of his).
Finally, the OkanJazz New Generation jazz band was presented for the first time. This band is composed of students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the Esteban Salas Conservatory of Music. I was impressed by the quality of this group of young people, which gives me confidence that the future of music is indeed assured.
Seeing Vocal Adalias is always a pleasant experience, so I look forward to his next performance this month. I'll say goodbye for now, until next Thursday. We will read soon! 😎

Llegó la hora de compartir otras memorias con #ThrowbackThursday 🥳. Y en la entrega de hoy traigo los recuerdos de un día lleno de música y felicidad.
La peña de Vocal Adalias es uno de los espacios culturales en la ciudad que gracias a su constancia gana cada vez más seguidores. La primera entrega de este año no podía perdérmela, así que me encontraba en la Casa Dranguet desde temprano, esperando a que el show comenzara.
Allí me encontré con mi amiga Tania Dranguet y rápidamente nos sentamos juntos. Pronto, las Adalias salieron a escena.
Este grupo vocal me gusta mucho, quizás por la propia magia que ellas tienen y que transmiten. Como pronto iba a iniciar el Festival Jazz Plaza, ellas dedicaron esa sesión a hacer adelantos de las canciones que estarían estrenando. También interpretaron repertorio de la música cubana, que es uno de sus sellos.
Mientras tomaba un jugo de zapote, seguí disfrutando de la música hasta el último minuto. Una invitada especial fue la poetisa Ericka Castellanos, y confieso que me encantó su intervención. Además de una entrevista que le hicieron, ella leyó dos poemas que me gustan mucho, uno de su poemario y el otro de José Martí (mi favorito de él).
Ya para finalizar se presentó por primera vez la banda de jazz OkanJazz New Generation. Esta banda es integrada por estudiantes del 2do y 3er año del Conservatorio de música Esteban Salas. Quedé impresionado por la calidad de este grupo de jóvenes, lo que me da seguridad de que el futuro de la música sí está asegurado.
Ver a Vocal Adalias es siempre una experiencia grata, así que espero con ansias su próxima presentación en este mes. Por ahora me despido, hasta el próximo jueves. ¡Nos leemos pronto! 😎
