Hello my dear people of TBT, today I bring you some photos that are not so recent and not so old, they are from about 5 or six years ago, it was a moment that I remember with much affection and gratitude because it was the birthday party of one of my uncles, the husband of my oldest aunt, at that time he was turning 80 years old, he was in very good health and happiness, so he gathered all his family to celebrate in a big way. Everyone was very happy, wearing their best clothes, as they say, to honor Don Tomás Mireles on his 80th birthday.
Hola mi querida gente del TBT para hoy les traigo algunas fotos que no son tan recientes y tampoco tan antiguas, son de hace más o menos 5 o seis años, fue un momento que recuerdo con mucho cariño y agradecimiento porque se trataba de la fiesta de cumpleaños de uno de mis tíos, el esposo de mi tía mayor, en ese entonces él estaba cumpliendo 80 años de vida, gozaba de muy buena salud y felicidad, así que reunió a toda su familia para celebrarlo a lo grande. Todos estaban muy felices, luciendo sus mejores galas, como se dice, para agasajar a Don Tomás Mireles en sus 80 aniversario.
He was a “llanero” man, so he liked to celebrate in a big way, so all his family from Tinaquillo, Cojedes State in Venezuela, went to his house to accompany him in the party, they are all musicians, so this was guaranteed, I remember that even the power went out for a few hours but it did not matter because there was live music.
Él era un hombre llanero, así que le gustaba festejar a lo grande, así que toda su familia de Tinaquillo, Estado Cojedes en Venezuela, fueron hasta su casa a acompañarlo en la fiesta, todos son músicos, así que esto estaba garantizado, recuerdo que incluso se fue la energía eléctrica por unas horas pero no importó porque había música en vivo
There was carne asada, soup and the traditional cachapas (a delicious typical Venezuelan food made of corn) my uncle liked them very much, so that and the soup could not be missing in his party. Unfortunately then came the Covid and in 2021 we lost one of our aunts, my uncle Tomas was also infected, and although he did not die on that occasion and managed to get out of the serious condition, he was never the same, he refused to walk again and was confined to bed for about 4 years until he died last year, yet we still remember him fondly, as the cheerful and loving man he used to be, because one does not die when his heart stops beating but when he is forgotten, and when there is love there is no forgetting possible.
Hubo carne asada, sopa y las tradicionales cachapas (es una deliciosa comida típica venezolana a base de maíz) a mi tío le gustaban mucho, así que eso y la sopa no podía faltar en su fiesta. Lamentablemente luego llegó el Covid y en el 2021 perdimos a una de nuestras tías, mi tío Tomás también se contagió, y a pesar de que no murió en esa ocasión y logró salir del cuadro de gravedad, no volvió a ser el mismo, se rehusó a volver a caminar y quedó confinado a la cama por 4 años aproximadamente hasta que murió el año pasado, aún así seguimos recordándolo con mucho cariño, como el hombre alegre y amoroso que solía ser, porque uno no se muere cuando deja de latir su corazón sino cuando lo olvidan, y cuando hay amor no hay olvido posible.
