Looking back at my first year in hive and all the mistakes I made and looking at where I am presently, I would only appreciate the spirit of consistency in me. When I joined Hive, initially, I came with the wrong mindset of making money from the platform, and after some months, I didn't see the money I came for. Suddenly, discouragement set in and I almost gave up. On second thought, I developed an idea of recreating other people's posts whom I saw had much support. When I did that, I didn't have any support; hence, another frustration came in. I was confused because I would ask myself certain questions like, what are these people doing differently that I am not doing? Most times, I will read their posts, and some aren't captivating. I thought that probably they're doing things differently, so I decided to find out what they were doing differently that I was not doing. In my findings, I didn't have any information other than being consistent in creating content. Hence, I decided to give consistency a try. Being consistent in whatever one does is one of the Herculean tasks in life. To be consistent, you need to be patient and hardworking and these two are what most humans are not ready to go through. My early years of hive were not in any way rosy. It was full of pain and disappointment because, most times, you will spend lots of time writing beautiful posts only for them to miss curation. So many people who left hive did as a result of this fact. Those who have passed this stage are the ones enjoying #hive today.
Looking back at how far I have been and not doing the things I thought would make me succeed, which in a real sense weren't those things, shows that I have grown in every aspect of my content creation in hive. This is evidenced in the following ways
Numbers of words
I remember how I used to struggle with writing elaborately. The highest number of words I could write was 200. I remember one day my mentor telling me that I should try and increase the number of my words so I can have more votes. After that, I struggle to write 300 words. But today, the least I can write in all my content is 500 words. This is made possible through my consistency on the hive platform. Beyond increasing my number of words, I tend to be faster when writing with much inflow of ideas and vocabulary.
I learned to accept every outcome
Before now, I used to feel bad whenever my posts were not being curated. Consequently, I will stop making posts for days. This was a bad attitude. But now, I accept everything as good fate. It has no way of affecting my emotions. This is growth in all aspects.
Originality
As I wrote earlier, I used to copy most people's posts and add my ideas to them. Now, I write on my own. I create my ideas myself and I engage meaningfully on various topics on the blockchain.
These are the things I am grateful for. Looking back I can say that I have grown exponentially. All thanks to Hive. Writing is now made easy.
This is a very inspiring post, and you describe very well how are the beginnings in Hive. I would say that you should also add to your knowledge the fact of contributing something to the platform, and not just making posts, although you will do that over time as you meet people here. It's a long road, but you fall in love with Hive...

Hahahaha 🤣. These number of words, everyone of us struggled with it at first.
Thank God because you have grown now and you can even write up to five hundred words.
Thanks for sharing
This number of words have been a struggle to almost everyone here but I'm glad consistency have now made us see it as nothing
